It seems Stanford Medicine doesn’t know what a woman is.
Update: That said, I can’t find the page on the Stanford Med website…
Update 2: Marcy Jane xirself stepped up to help me.
Ah yes, there it is, in the glossary – the special bespoke LGBTQ+ glossary. Along with other dubious definitions. The stuff on there is not…how shall I put this…medical. It’s identityical, not medical.
“based on what is important to them as an individual”
Wow! Just admit everything why don’t you? :) It’s all feelings and nothing else.
Lesson: don’t get your med school degree from Stanford.
You know who would fight this pronouncement? India Willoughby. He’s fought so hard to make everyone believe that the “F” in his precious little passport posseses the power to make him a biological woman that, in principle, he shouldn’t be able to let this stand. Then again who knows? He might not contradict a Trans Sibling or Ally if such silence served the Cause (assuming he could set aside his self-centredness long enough to recognize any greater than his ego.)
I wish these people could keep their story straight; getting them to be consistent and coherent makes nailing jello to the wall easy in comparison. This is like trying to nail hot air to the wall. As has been pointed out here before, transactivists don’t just want things both ways, they want things all ways. Whatever they say goes, and expecting those “sayings” to be in agreement with each other is transphobic bigotry. We’re supposed to nod in silent agreement with whatever statement is made, and submit to the demands of the lived experience of whomever is commanding us, without regard for its logic or truth value. Anything apart from submission and compliance is hatred.
