A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Education Department’s final Title IX rule, which prohibits discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
What is “discrimination based on gender identity”? Why, it’s knowing that men are not women, of course. It’s the most discrimminy thing there is.
Western District of Louisiana Chief Judge Terry Doughty in an order Thursday declared that Title IX, a federal education law that bars sex-based discrimination, “was written and intended to protect biological women from discrimination.”
Why? Because women are the ones who need that protection. It’s not men who are passed over for promotions, paid less for the same job, sexually harassed at work.
“Such purpose makes it difficult to sincerely argue that, at the time of enactment, ‘discrimination on the basis of sex’ included gender identity, sex stereotypes, sexual orientation, or sex characteristics,” Doughty, a Trump appointee, wrote. “Enacting the changes in the Final Rule would subvert the original purpose of Title IX.”
Why? Because it would protect men (who pretend to be women) at the expense of women.
I hate it that Trump-appointed judges are the ones who get this right.
The fact that the Title IX changes made by the Biden administration exclude sports when it comes to gender identity discrimination is a tell that gender identity is not the same thing as sex when it comes to actual, sexed, bodies.

It’s so pathetic that sports matter enough but women’s basic rights don’t.
Sports take place in public, in front of an audience; cheating is obvious. Maybe they realize that this is just too blatant and brazen, and they know enough not to push the envelope too far, too quickly. Other rights violations occur more privately, without as many witnesses. Except the women whose rights are violated, but then they’re not really people, are they. Like Starmer and Labour, Democrats are trying to have their progressive gender cake and eat it too. And also like Starmer and Labour, they just have to convince women to SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT.
The biggest political and cultural disappointment of my life has been discovering that the left doesn’t stand, and never has stood, for the emancipation of women. Oh, lots of people on the left believe that it does, or should, include fighting for women to have the same rights as men – but those men who have the charisma and clout to get into positions of power on the left are simply after having the same opportunities for working-class men (or, more probably, just themselves as working class men) to attain greatness as upper-class men take for granted. Right across the political spectrum, women are being exploited for their labour; with vague promises of emancipation, should the party succeed, which somehow rarely come to fruition. Always, there are ‘more important’ (i.e. male-focussed) matters to deal with first. I’m worried that women’s rights are rarely, if ever, going to reach a high enough priority to be enshrined in cast-iron legislation and that there will always be men keen to revert any advances we might have made in order to put women back into the status of chattel.
