Approval
It’s like kindergarten. As long as someone, somewhere, said ok, that’s all the permission you need. “Sally said I could!” “Sally, like you, is 5 years old.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared a statement from family members of the fallen soldiers honoured at the event, expressing their approval.
“We had given our approval for President Trump’s official videographer and photographer to attend the event, ensuring these sacred moments of remembrance were respectfully captured and so we can cherish these memories forever,” the families said in Trump’s Truth Social post.
But that doesn’t matter. It’s not their cemetery and they don’t make the rules. Their approval doesn’t override federal law.
But that goes against federal policy, an Arlington National Cemetery spokesperson told the BBC.
Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities on the grounds of military cemeteries, including photographers, content creators or anyone directly supporting a partisan political candidate’s campaign, the cemetery spokesperson said.
Never mind, if Trump wins he’ll make it a Trump property run according to Trump rules.
I think he probably thinks that he won in 2020 and therefore is the rightful king and therefore he owns all federal property and therefore he gets to make the rules.

What else can you expect?. He is after all, a self-proclaimed ‘stable genius.’ That can only mean that he knows everything about horses, saddles and all that sort of gear. So hopefully, it won’t be long before he goes riding off into the sunset.
“Come on, Tonto; our work’s done here.!” Etc.
He certainly knows about shit and pitchforks, Omar, but I doubt he can manage a horse. A rail on the other hand.
a bit of a thread bender – but this comment from another blog hits home around the “i thought it was okay” “defence” and the “boys get an automatic break” front
the blog has a lot of alphabet soup issues, but this comment about crazed car driving habits really hits home

Just want to push back on one detail: it’s not “a teenager” who drives like this, who beats up his mother, etc. It’s a teenage BOY.
This is a highly gendered problem, and after a couple of decades of reading about how tragic it is that BOYS aren’t doing as well as girls in school, about how YOUNG MEN are alienated and unhappy (basically, because reaching puberty with a penis no longer turns them into the Natural Lords of the Universe, like back in the day when any subliterate moron who could make it [almost] all the way through high school could get a lifetime-guaranteed, living-wage job Down To The Plant/Mill/Mine/Factory, marry his high school prom date, buy a house at 22 and have four kids by 28, and beat the wife and kids to his heart’s content as long as the mortgage got paid each month), I am sick and tired of hearing about how we should treat dangerous sociopaths like acceptable members of the human race, whose horrific antisocial behavior we should understand and about whom we should care, just because they are under a certain age and have external genitalia.
Whiners and moaners about boys not doing as well as girls in school love to claim that boys should start school a year later than girls because their “brain development” is slower. (Wow, great — so girls can look forward to all the boys in their class being a year physically larger and stronger than they are, that’s sure to work out just fine for everyone!)
If boys take so much longer than girls to develop mentally, I propose that only girls should be able to get a driver’s license at 16. Boys shouldn’t qualify for licensure until they’re 21, and even then they should have to pass not only a driver’s test, but also a test measuring their ability to defer gratification, make decisions based upon the welfare of others, and resist peer pressure to act recklessly.
ETA: Making this even more special, how many commenters here are blaming the kid’s mother? Big fucking surprise
