Yes, more booing please. Show these cheaters that they are being seen for what they are, cheating males. Stop accepting it in silence. Stop expecting the girls to not race against them in protest. Why should they step aside when they’ve done nothing wrong? Embarass the cheaters, as well as the coaches and sporting regulators that allow and encourage the cheating. What better response to their poor sportsMANship? Make these men and boys, and their enablers, feel EMBARASSED AND ASHAMED, because they’ve DONE SOMETHING SHAMEFUL. They deserve ZERO SYMPATHY. They brought this on themselves. MORE BOOING!
Veronica Garcia, formerly known as Donovan Brown, was booed when he took the winner’s podium.
Good. And in time, such ‘winners’ could well be manifesting huge courage when they mount the said pseudo-winners podiums. Each ‘mount’ worth a medal in its own right.
He was so confident of winning that he didn’t even look over his shoulders in case another runner was going to overtake him on the final straight, and his bending over to ‘get his breath’ was clearly an act because he wasn’t pushing himself hard in the race. I’d love to know what the girl in the maroon vest was thinking when she was stood staring at him: I bet it wasn’t ‘well done, girl’.
Also, good on the girls on the rostrum who all clapped and acknowledged the second-placed runner as she took her place then all stood looking forward with their hands firmly behind their backs, not so much as glancing at the boy as he stepped on. Whether that show of disdain was preorganised or spontaneous it certainly puts the lie to the regular TRA claim that school athletes are welcoming of trans competitors, it’s only the evil TERFS and right wing bigots with no connection to the schools who stir up trouble.
The cheater ran a 55.75. While that’s flying for the girls, that’s a middling junior varsity time for the boys. In fact, his time was 6.49 seconds slower than the winner in the boys 2A division (the cheater’s school was a 2A school). That means he would have lost by 50 METERS in the boys race! Not only would he have finished last in the boys 400 meter final, he would have finished last by 2.39 seconds (a little more than 17 METERS) behind the 16th place runner in the preliminary.
How in the world can ANYONE think this is fair to girls? If I was the coach of the girl that finished second (or any of them really), I would pay for a duplicate gold medal and give it to the girl who really won at an all school assembly.
Donovan (Veronica) is a complete jerk and should be shunned.
Oh the poor dear. Being booed is literally like being shoved into a camp oven. b

And the parents.
Does he get extra points for pretending to be Hispanic as well as female?

I wonder what would have happened had Donovan Brown run the race and won.
Oh, wait. He did.
