All she got
Fella wants to make what he considers “spewing bigotry” a jail-worthy crime.
An additional peculiarity is that he considers it “vile hate speech” to say that a man is not a woman.
It’s interesting that he has no understanding of human rights or freedom of speech, and that he thinks men can be women. Wrong on the concepts and wrong on the facts.
Anita Bryant is a poor example, she had irrational fears of LGB people that proved to be false.
Women and girls are being disenfranchised and losing their rights as a result of men who claim to be women. It’s not a prediction based on fear (and which by the way never came true) it’s happening right now.
So not only is the trans cult parasitic of the LGB movement, it’s parasitic of it’s opponents as well. That’s why they think calling people who are gender critical “right wing” when it’s not a partisan issue.
That second to last line is a bit dubious; fetishes and self-harm aren’t mental illnesses, they’re sometimes symptoms. Needless to say I don’t agree with Aidan.
Well twiliter, I do think most of the people who self-ID as gender critical are (non-American) right wingers who use the moniker as a smokescreen. All the more reason not to label yourself as such. You don’t need to be GC to assert that men are not women and vis versa.
BKiSA, I don’t think you need to have *any* political or ideological stance to know that men can’t be women, or be GC either. A little basic science and common sense will do. I guess here my definition of GC would be quite literal, in the sense that knowing changing sex is not possible. But further, since I learned a long time ago that sex and gender are synonymous, I don’t see what practical use the alleged differences between sex and gender are. I could have Judith explain it to me, if I could stay awake long enough, and still not be persuaded.
twiliter: I’m not sure that I would consider that the ‘literal’ definition of Gender Critical, though. The whole point of GC is to argue that ‘gender’ doesn’t really exist at all, outside of secondary consequences of sexual dimorphism (ie, women give birth; men can rape). All the rest of it is, at the end of the day, something that was invented whole-cloth by society over thousands of years (starting, largely, with the birth of agriculture and subsequent role specialization). The gender theorists then came along a few decades ago and started co-opting that edifice, rather than ripping it down wholesale.
Transwomen and tradwives are flipsides of the same coin; GCs are of the opinion that it’s still fiat currency and not really worth anything at all.
