What does “transphobia” have to do with Planned Parenthood?
What does “gender-affirming care” have to do with Planned Parenthood?
They’re Planned Parenthood. Why do they keep yapping about trans issues?

Totalism in action.

“Planned Parenthood is proud to provide a safe and welcoming place to get transgender/nonbinary hormone therapy. We offer services to transgender women, transgender men, and nonbinary people.”
I believe I read they are among the largest providers of hormone treatments for trans-identified people.
“…by dialing 211 to report hate.”
That’s… not what 211 is for. I mean, I’m not in the USA but I don’t think the operators are qualified to take hate reports, and certainly not to actually do anything about them.
So, protecting market share then. Good to know.
I’d not heard of 211 before, so I checked the web site. It’s for finding assistance for food, paying bills, or mental health. Under “mental health”, the page lists several alternative numbers for the “Trevor lifeline” and the “trans lifeline”, along with numbers for a suicide hotline and other resources. Absolutely none of this has anything to do with reporting hate.
Why can’t PP, I assume run by people past the age of majority, understand exactly how ridiculous (not to mention potentially dangerous) it is to give people unfettered access to “live their truth”?
And since when is that a right, anyway?
Perhaps you should send them a copy of Why Truth Matters
“Their truth” kind of gives the game away, doesn’t it. They’re the other sex in their own heads, and nowhere else.
Wow. That’s the best, short summation of this issue I’ve seen anywhere.
YNNB, Planned Parenthood’s big trans pivot was a pretty sound business decision. Even before Dobbs, women’s clinics in the US often had a problem with cash flow because of the Hyde Amendment and state laws about “no money for ABORTSHUNZ”. There’s good money in prescribing HRT, and that’s how you keep the lights on and the bulletproof glass intact and the security guards paid so that your core mission continues.
Because money. That’s why.
This really saddens me. PP used to really do good things. I used to protest for abortion rights outside my local PP. Now I wouldn’t associate my name with them for anything.
