Urp urp she a bigottt
Where it started.
It’s worth belaboring this because it’s dangerous as well as wrong. It’s a not very subtle way of inflaming and intensifying hatred of people who don’t subscribe to gender ideology.
No, wrong; she doesn’t deny that trans people exist, she denies that people can be the opposite sex. She disputes a fact claim about people who call themselves trans, which is very different from denying that people who call themselves trans exist. We know they exist. We see their smirking selfies and/or their enraged threats.
People can say “You’re not a socialist” to someone who identifies as a socialist, and that is not denying that the person who identifies as a socialist exists. You can substitute almost any self-descriptive noun or adjective for “socialist” and the result is the same. The one exception is “alive.” “You’re not alive” is indeed a denial of someone’s existence, but it’s also a bit weird. If the subject is not alive what’s the point of saying so? If the subject is alive, still what’s the point of saying so? But anyway, disputing descriptors is not repeat is not denial of existence.
It’s a symptom of the stupidity of the ideology, frankly, that people under its spell keep repeating this dopy claim.
The religious analogy you cited before is really apt in driving this home, because no one, not even the Dalai Lama, believes in every religion. You cannot, for example, believe both the claims of Islam and the claims of Christianity, yet no one denies that both Christians and Muslims exist.
I wonder if part of the reason for this silly charge about denying people’s existence lies in the nature of the claim: the new must replace the old. The little boy named Daniel was a false persona who disappeared when Danielle revealed herself. Everything about the past regarding Daniel must now either disappear or be rewritten. Take down those photos of Danny happily roughhousing on vacation, replace them with stories of how much pain the little girl inside would have felt, being ignored and denied. Daniel and Danielle cannot coexist. “Daniel” is the deadname because Daniel is — was always — dead. He wasn’t real.
If you just think Daniel is calling himself by a new name, you must not believe Danielle is real.
Even Elon Musk agrees that “cis” and “cisgender” are slurs. Maybe he’s not as daft as I think he is.

As much as I don’t relish being in agreement with the likes of Musk, or Matt Walsh, or Jordan Peterson, they do get some things right. The sky is blue in our world, we love our children, and being heterosexual and having our sex and gender align are not bad things.
