I’m glad at least unionizing is (from what I hear) on the rise.
New Yorkers using “y’all”…. /eyeroll.
What they need to do is to send us all copies of Jack Monroe’s new book so we can live luxuriously with less.

Actually I think “y’all’ is one of the best things to come out of the US south.
Having two distinct words for 2nd person singular and 2nd person plural is a useful distinction.

I recall being informed that “y’all” is the singular and “all y’all” is the plural. I don’t remember from where in the US south the person who informed me of this was from.
“Y’all” is the official way to address people when you’re lecturing them on Twitter for some reason.

I’ve seen that definition in a book on how to talk Texan. I have seen it disputed by people I know from Texas, though.
