The spaces they identify with
The ever-popular “but what do you mean by ‘trans rights’?” question.
For once we get an answer.
Ah, that “right.” Ok so now explain to us how that can be a right without demolishing the right to single sex spaces. Explain how it can be a right for men to force themselves on women in changing rooms and toilets and rape crisis centers and homeless shelters. Explain how “identifying as” the opposite of what a person in fact can be a basis for human rights.
We’ll wait.
Soooo, the right to trample women’s rights?
That’s not in conflict with women’s rights?
Um, are we sure we’re all speaking English?
And please also explain, why only sex spaces. Can someone identify as disabled and as a consequence access spaces reserved for the disabled? Can minors identify as adults or vice versa?
I think the members here can fill in the rest.
Willet is confusedly conflating “sex” with “gender.” Because apparently NO transperson believes people can change their sex. Therefore they would want access to “single-gender spaces.” But those don’t exist. Women-only spaces were fought for by women and are sex-segregated.
Perhaps he is as foolish as Willoughby, and believes sex actually changes with the right government form.
I think the idea that sex actually changes may be frighteningly common. Here’s a bit of street epistemology on gender/sex. Listen to what the girl says at 17:30 when she’s asked about a man who loses his genitalia in a car crash.
Yes, in this case, rights are “like pie.” As in, let the trans take your piece of pie and don’t talk back.
