Signs like this
Interesting.
The * in trans* leads to a clarification at the bottom of the poster: “In this case, trans refers to people who identify as transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, non-binary, genderqueer, or gender diverse.” In other words, anything and everything. Any guy who feels like going right on into the women’s washroom [rest room, toilet, bathroom, WC, etc] is welcome to; all he has to do is say he’s gender diverse. Who’s going to challenge him on that? Who even knows what the fuck it’s supposed to mean? So come on in, bros, fill the place up, make it so bro-friendly that women won’t go near it. Stupid bitches will have to stay home and it serves them right, yeah?
Both edges of the sexism sword cut this one into shape.
Trans “women” get all the attention and the special accommodation, because women are the vulnerable sex that needs protection and the sex with feelings. Trans “men” don’t get the same, because men are tough, strong, and emotionless. To be vulnerable, whether physically or emotionally, is to be a woman.
At least, that seems to be one of the subconscious, nascent, unformed, prerational attitudes undergirding this and so many other facets of Genderism like some kind of epistemological noncognitvism. This purely nominal rejection of gendered norms obscures their wholesale embrace. The infuriating, demoralizing thing is the tactic’s apparent efficacy. Just think of all the times you’ve seen someone say that Antifa means anti-fascist and thus can’t be fascist. Which, come to think of it, is yet another example of prioritizing self-ID. Masked goons physically assaulting elderly women for being uppity identify as opponents of fascism, so that’s what they must be.
Meanwhile even self-ID isn’t always prioritized; women aren’t allowed to self-ID as women.
