I’ve been involved in a minor Facebook argument regarding a meme that says “We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so uneducated people won’t be offended.” I think the situation in the OP is similar. People look at the meme and say “Oh yeah, those awful Republicans”, but don’t consider that other groups do this, too, that the meme is describing a tactic rather than saying “boo, Republicans”, and that maybe they should look at what is actually being said and what the actual facts are.
They’re lying to the cult followers, knowing that they have to keep them in a state of constant fear of the surrounding society, or they’ll lose them. They have zero facts on their side which would support any of their assertions, so they lie. It is particularly outrageous that they lie to children and whip up mobs against mums and grannies.
Nine in a ten year span, not even one per year. One would think few murders per year is a good thing, but that doesn’t fit the ‘genocide’ fairytale, so it needs to go.
tigger #4: doesn’t that sound very similar to the Fox News post? We don’t want people to [be furious] [feel uncomfortable], so we report the “facts” as they want them to be.
You can tell when moral identity is metastasizing into moralistic identity because you hear the message Maybe it’s true but I’m not the sort person who believes it or Maybe it’s false but I’m not the sort of person who doubts it..
Yes, they must have a political officer on staff to approve or disapprove the wording. “Nothing about us without us.”
“‘Facts are stupid things” said Ronald Regan in error.
Seems to be a truth of the TRA movement.

Joan Smith has posted a twitter thread giving fuller details of that episode.
Jayda Bolt has responded to her first post with some data: between 2008 and 2017 there were nine murders of ‘trans people’ recorded in the UK.
Sorry, I thought I had included a link to the first post in Joan Smith’s thread, but it has vanished; here it is (I hope): https://twitter.com/polblonde/status/1642148168547676160.

iknklast, the parallels are striking!
Both are much more interested in keeping their market share than they are in freedom of speech;
They both distort their audiences’ perception of reality in order to keep them following;
And they both try to silence anyone who might do anything to disabuse their audiences by offering them facts.
A comment on Smith’s thread linked above notes how trans identified males are “The only demographic that WANTS more murders of itself.”
