Proto-cis
An item from last month:
Now more than ever, cis female athletes must show solidarity with trans athletes
Must? Why?
Is there ever going to be a time when we’re told trans athletes must show solidarity with women?
Of course not. Stupid question. Women are privileged bitches, Karens, hags.
Johanna Mellis goes on:
Kathryn Bromwich argued that the main threat to us cisgender women comes from cisgender men, and not trans women. It is the same in sport: historically and currently, the common perpetrators of sexual assault, abuse and harassment in sport are cisgender men.
Trans women are men. Skip the “cis” label, which doesn’t mean anything. Trans women are men who pretend to be women, which doesn’t make them not-men, much less women. They’re just men; it’s nonsensical to say the threat to women doesn’t come from men, it comes from men. The three letters c i s are not magic and don’t change men into women any more than the five letters t r a n s do.
The GOP is using sporting exclusion as an entry point to gain support for their proto-genocidal assault to eliminate trans people.
Proto-genocidal?
For the gazillionth time I wonder why the Guardian publishes this kind of childish dreck.
Men who threaten and don’t respect women’s boundaries are always suspect. They have no respect for boundaries, and I don’t trust them. If men are safe for women to be around, they will respect boundaries.
Therefore, I suspect trans women. They don’t even recognize the boundary between the sexes, and they push into everything where women are. This is the behavior of a predator, not a friend. If a fox tries to get into the henhouse, no one agrees that is good, even if the fox is wearing feathers.
That sounds like a good reason not to have males involved in women’s sports.
Anyway saying that the “common perpetrators of sexual assault, abuse and harassment in sport are cisgender men” doesn’t really tell us anything, because trans women are a tiny minority.
The common perpetrators may be cisgender men, because cisgender men are just that much larger a population. What we need to know is, are trans women disproportionately or even proportionately represented in these cases.
What limited research we have available suggests that trans women maintain male offending patterns. We know from UK prison statistics that trans prisoners are more likely to be in prison for sexual offenses.

While a fairly recent study into trans youths found them to be less likely to engage in sexual violence than cisgender youths, according to the study out of the 329 participants who identified as transgender, only “34 participants identified as transgender girls”.

As trans men aren’t at issue here, but rather trans women, this research isn’t terribly useful for assessing the risks posed by trans women. What data we have available doesn’t look good for this case.
It is also a weird thing to bring up. The core issue with trans women competing as women so far as I’ve seen at least, is that they have the physical advantages of being born male, and thus have a serious competitive edge over women.
It is not the risk of sexual assault, abuse and harassment.
Which is to say, it is the sort of defense that makes me think, “Wow, I hadn’t thought of that, now I’m really worried.”
Mellis’ argument works because of the large number of people who say “trans women are women, of course, and should be treated as such in general — but I see some sense in keeping a few things like sports, prisons, and rape crisis centers divided by sex.”
Once it’s conceded that they’re women, there’s no holding back. “The main threat to us cisgender women comes from cisgender men, not trans women” has the same form as “the main threat to straight women comes from straight men, not lesbians.” Liberal people are familiar with the latter, and plug in the former, thus agreeing that being worried about other women is unwarranted.
You’d think that liberal people would see through that ruse. After all, if you tell most liberals that there are more white people in US prisons than black people, most will respond that it’s the proportion of black people in prison that matters, not the absolute number.
And yet if you make the same point about “cis” men vs. trans women, they suddenly forget their numeracy and accuse you of transphobia.
Am I overstating that this man is the greatest threat to democracy in our country right now? He is flouting the law, and the legal system. He’s taking advantage of his wealth, power, and charisma to get away with his abuses of power and attempt to overthrow the government.
Those 54% of Republicans who favor him for Preznit talk about “freedom” all the time, but they have no idea how he wants to destroy the legal protections we have.
He belongs in isolation with no access to the internet.
Mike you meant this for Trump not refraining, yes? If you copy it there I’ll delete this one.
