Perhaps too special
This in an ongoing theme, or pair of themes or set of nested themes – the selectivity of concerns about violence, slaughter, rape, genocide, torture, kidnapping, massacres.
One place you really don’t want to see that kind of selectivity is the UN.
It’s also disturbing to see the representative of such an organization block pointed criticism as if they were a beleaguered victim desperately protecting themselves from personal insults. This is not about YOU. Nor are you a kindergarten teacher shepherding their vulnerable charges through a prison and avoiding contact. It’s an open discussion forum which ought to reflect the principles and values of the United Nations itself.
