Pakistan Willoughby
Saying men are not women is exactly the same as the Nazis says Willoughby.
We want trans people – people like Willoughby himself – to stop demonizing and trying to erase women. We want trans people, especially men who claim to be trans, to stop taking everything that belongs to women, and talking over us, and calling us Karens and cunts, and accusing us of hate crimes, and calling us Nazis. That’s what we want.
Oooh, just what the Nazis said and did to the Jews.
Such Nazi. Much oppress.
Willoughby is a liar.
I think the trans lobby have quite competently done that to themselves. Barb wire wrapped pink and blue baseball bats, pink and blue AR15s. Yelling and screaming, shoving and hitting women trying to talk about their rights. Hounding academics and journalists out of their jobs. Trying to ruin the lives and reputations of anyone who questions their dubious ideology and nonsensical claims. They’re trans terrorists and their behaviour wouldn’t be tolerated by society if it came from any other group.
And how did this come to be? It can’t be because there are that many people regretting having got it wrong about gay rights can it? Latching the T onto the coattails of the LGB was a clever move to be sure, but has it succeeded in fooling that many people? We’ve all seen the work of the dedicated cadre of liars and apologists, and their government and media allies and enablers. The power to bury and ignore the truth is an important factor in all of this. Fear is certainly a contributor too; the actions of the activists are indeed terrorism if it has cowed people so that they’re afraid to voice their opposition. Lots of people outside of the twittersphere have no idea that this shit is happening at all. Add to all of this a huge dollop of “It’s only women,” and I think you’ve probably got most of the recipe, with some added spices and seasonings to get you the rest of the way.
I don’t know YNnB. Despite all the time I’ve spent here I still don’t think I know enough. Without a doubt there are a lot of people who are now comfortable with gay rights and pretend they never made an off colour joke or yelled a slur back in the day. If the tide turned I bet a lot of pro gay rights public would go right back to off colour jokes and slurs.
Without a shadow of a doubt the trans movement is top down, not grassroots. Funding (masses of it) comes from corporations, billionaires, the UN, charities, trade unions. It’s part of why something that barely existed in the public mind 10 years ago, even 5 years ago, now hits our pages and screens every single day. I suspect there is a whole bunch of drivers. A lot of the left has become neo-liberal. Pushing trans rights is of a parcel with pushing sex ‘work’. There is a lot of money to be made by medicalising even 0.2% of the population. There’s the misogyny aspect – better to promote the ‘rights’ of a few weird guys than to promote the rights of 50% of the population who are demanding equal wages and respect. There’s probably a whole bunch of factors, but it’s not a groundswell movement, although they are certainly trying to create that – reasonably successfully with the connivance of politicians and the media.
There’s everything that Rob said, plus the obvious counter-factual claim. Willoughby is engaging in DARVO (again; does that man have any proper arguments?) because there are reams of evidence, including hundreds of photographs, that Nazis were habitual cross-dressers.
Just for completeness I’ll add to my list above a thing we’ve all often noted. Trans ideology at its most coherent is terribly terribly regressive and conforming. Girls and women (should) behave like this and dress like this. Boys and men (should) behave like this and dress like this. For a lot of people it’s probably quite comforting in a way. Sure the guy in a dress or the girl who’s chopped off her breasts make you feel a bit squirmy, but at least they know how people should behave. It’s probably easier for many people to cope with than feminist women and LGB people who actually challenge gender stereotypes. Witness the way regimes like the Ayatollahs in Iran will allow gay people to transition and be accepted, rather than remain gay and be executed.
And from what I’ve seen, a lot of people inside the twittersphere. I know someone who actually follows what she refers to as “Tiktok feminists” and can’t seem to see that this is happening, and a lot of it in the “Tiktok feminists”. She appears to be blind, whether deliberately or just can’t see the ugly, I don’t know.
Same here. I have a friend online, who is well-informed and thoughtful on most other subjects.
But last year, he posted that “there’s no evidence that violent men are identifying as trans women to get into women’s prisons.”
In the bubble he was in, Karen White, Katie Dolatowski, Bardie Kardashian etc. literally didn’t come up on his radar.
