Ugh. However, I notice that some other person, presumably also a TRA, is pulling the man back. So at least, some TRAs seem to have retained some sense of right and wrong.
I’ve spoken to several TRAs who have seen that footage and claimed that they can’t tell who is on which side (the fact that the man is wearing a dress might just be a bit of a tell here) and that – of course – she probably started it anyway. Because that’s what 70 year old women do in crowds, as a rule. They start fights.
We’ve seen it all before: the sudden, extreme demand for evidence that can’t possibly exist and the why-didn’t-she-go-to-the-polices. Strange that no evidence is required for such claims as TWAW, but when there’s video footage of a man in a dress punching a woman in the face, suddenly every single fact must be uncovered before we ‘rush’ to judgement.
When a young man punches a not-young woman in the face it’s not really relevant who “started” it. By “she started it” they could just mean “she’s on Their team” and anyway even if she did smack him or try to smack him, he’s not allowed to respond with a fist in the eye. If a toddler swats you you don’t slam the toddler into a wall.
I don’t care if that 70-year-old woman called him the foulest possible things in the book–he’s still not allowed to punch her in the face. I suspect that she just said something horrible like “let women speak!”.
Looked like he got more than one punch in.
