In a win for trans students
The ACLU rejoices that girls will be forced to take their clothes off in front of boys.
Trans students must have access to bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their gender, but there is zero need for girls to have access to bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their sex. Why is that exactly?
I have read about some brainless legal decisions in my time, but this one has to take the biscuit. Quite clearly, too much lawyering rots the brain right out of one’s head.
A legal precedent that holds up rights based on something that doesn’t exist.
I suspect this is headed to the Supreme Court. This may be one case where we will be grateful for the current majority.
I am not a lawyer, but the plaintiffs apparently wanted to make the bathrooms same-sex only based on that being a religious tenet of theirs. The judge I think rightly said that while they have the freedom to send their child to a religious school, they can’t impose their religious beliefs on a public school. So basically, this was the sort of thing right-wingers do when they don’t think through the issue. (IMO, one of the biggest things going for TRAs is how stupid and clueless many conservatives are about gender and sex. Stupid legislation and lawsuits generate sympathy for gender ideology and make it that much harder for gender critical feminists to point out how women are being discriminated against on the basis of sex.) Suing on the basis of women having a right to same-sex facilities like bathrooms would make for a stronger case, because Title IX specifically states that discrimination on the basis of sex (not gender) is the law. This (that sex is NOT the same thing as gender) is what I think will eventually come before the Supreme Court.
So what you’re saying in essence is that the most likely way we get rid of the trans cult scourge is that religious special privileges will be expanded further…
