Explain yourself immediately
Jolyon Maugham is on the naughty step?
Why does Jolyon Maugham’s Good Law Project have to explain a tweet from someone called Right to Equality? The two are In Partnership.
Teaming up with Jolyon Maugham of all people to campaign for women’s rights – nah, thanks, I’ll pass.
So it’s nice to see them fighting.
Taste of his own medicine for Jolyon eh?
H/t latsot
Joylon’s in the fox house.
I wish the tweeter were willing to identify which people the Nordic Model has killed.
I’m not sure but, I think his first name is “Buzz.”
Of course they might just identify as Dead. Or Mostly Dead.
“WHAT! You mean their word that it’s happened isn’t enough?! You must be one of those SWERFS!”
Sorry, I was overcome with a surfeit of snark; I couldn’t stop at one. Choose your favourite! Add your own!!
Perhaps channeling MAD’s Al Jaffee and Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions. Often presented in a single panel with 3 separate responses much like you just did.
Nice job!
Of course they advise sitting down with a sex worker’s advocacy group. They worry if someone sits down with sex workers, rather than their ‘advocates’, it might be revealed that very few women go into sex work out of a desire to be in the field, and that they despise the work, and the men that pay them.
People might find out that sex workers are vulnerable to violence, degradation, and humiliation, and are only doing it to be able to pay the rent or feed the kids. Most of them might desperately want to escape.
But sex worker advocacy groups is going to listen to the upper class prostitutes who don’t face those choices, who can drop in and out of prostitution, and who can make other choices if they want.
I once toyed with the idea of prostitution – this is the first time I have told that to anyone. The idea horrified me; I know how dangerous it is. But I did have a teenager to feed, and I was desperate. I am fortunate I ended up avoiding that path, that I was able to get to a place where I could manage without that. A lot of women aren’t so fortunate, and it’s disgusting to hear so many people who should know better act like it’s a fun and empowering choice women make.
“dangerous material.” “remove this dangerous material.”
Not, “we disagree, here’s why.” Nope. Just a claim that the opinion is “dangerous” and a call for censorship.
I despise these wannabe-totalitarian wankers.
