That interview was a train wreck. “Would a person who wasn’t transgender be acceptable heading a Trans’ Rights organization?” “Oh, of course” my arse. We know what would happen. And people with endometriosis don’t need to have been born with a womb because it’s just a “systemic inflammatory condition“ and “we need to move away from the gynecological side of things??” The founder of the organization is also a trans activist.
I thought Woman’s Hour was fully on board with TWAW and the entire issue of Trans’ Rights. Those were hard, persistent questions. I wish though that Barnett had followed up the repeated confident assurances that everyone else involved with the organization was absolutely thrilled to have a trans-identified male representing an endometriosis charity with inquiries about what would have happened if they’d objected. Are “transphobes” welcome? Or is it a good idea to flush them out of the system by appointing Steph?
Also, I wish the Woman’s Hour producers would have Helen Joyce, Julie Bindel, Maya Forstater, Kathleen Stock, Joan Smith etc on.
Nice of Stephanie to admit he believes Stonewall is a trans organisation. Shows the extent of their mission drift.
Jodie then says being told she should be burned alive is not okay. Okayyyyyyyy… does that also apply in the other direction? And does it occur to her that gender critical feminists are subject to vastly more of that than they dish out?
