Glinner asks a police officer why the police are not protecting the women from trans activists, who have completely encircled them. The officer says “People can come and go as they please.”
I find it very hard to avoid thinking about how the same situation would be viewed if it were the trans activists surrounded by a large rowdy crowd of intimidating Gender Critical, banging on drums and screaming insults and abuse. I doubt the police would be quite so insouciant.
And the pundits in the media would go into an absolute frenzy of moral outrage.
Not surprisingly NZ is the world leader in DV and VAWG.
I wonder how many of the violent men in Auckland went home, seething with rage because they couldn’t get to their intended victims, went home and bashed their wives.
Rev, I don’t know about the world leader (some countries may not keep good stats), but we are shamefully one of the world leaders in DV and VAWG. it bewilders me because there’s not really any single obvious cause or reason. Not that there is ever a good reason. Without a shadow of doubt though, there is a good chunk of the population where misogyny is much the same category as breathing. They’re not even conscious of it and they’d be offended if you asked them to stop.
I’ve seen several articles in the past that have associated choking/strangulation with younger hardcore porn obsessed males in particular. A couple were by sex and relationship councillors who said many young men had got their entire concept of sex and relationships from really hardcore porn and had become so desensitised that they couldn’t perform at all unless acting out the extreme end of what they had watched. A young female journalist wrote about her experience of starting to ‘date’ and having multiple partners who wanted to engage in ‘breath play’ aka choking. One of whom didn’t ask her first and choked her so hard she blacked out and came to with a sore throat, headache and no idea what he’d done to her. Then of course there’s the examples of what goes wrong when you get the likes of Grace Millane’s killer who had stepped up through at least two other partners with unconsented choking and violation before killing the poor kid. These sites are everywhere, but why a country with as much going for it as NZ has so many of them I really don’t know.

I am still trying to get over the fiasco of fear inflicted on Posie Parker last week in NZ. It is a widespread sickness.

It’s funny how “breath play” aka choking always means the man choking the woman, isn’t it…
