Which community though?
How sweet.
So how is sharing a photo of Allison Bailey marching for LGB rights in San Francisco in 1991 “a vehicle for stirring up hate”? Let alone “more hate”? Let alone “in our community”?
Why doesn’t Linda Riley consider lesbians “our community”? Why doesn’t she consider women “our community”? Why is she spitting bile at JKR for being a fan of Allison Bailey?
Well, we know why: it’s because Bailey doesn’t see men who call themselves lesbians as part of the lesbian community. It remains baffling that some lesbians denounce lesbians who “exclude” men from the lesbian community.
I asked a similar question on Twitter and……
….. you’ll never guess……
…. got called a nazi.
Did you see that JKR, after receiving a tonne of abuse for her tweet, also posted a picture of (and link to an interview with) “Stonewall-approved” bearded, be-penised ‘lesbian’ Alex Drummand?
And, of course, was also attacked for that.
So she gets abuse for saying that a woman is a lesbian and for saying that a man who says is a lesbian is a lesbian. By the same people. Right where everyone can see.
Don’t tell me she didn’t know exactly what was going to happen and planned accordingly. Genius.
It’s fairly clear at this point that their sense of perceived victimhood is all that they’ve got to sustain them. There is probably *no* action or statement that JKR could make without gnashing of teeth and rending of hair from the TRAs.
Truth. All they have is “marginalized.” Well so what? Everybody is “marginalized” in some ways, nobody can be centralized in all contexts at all times. I’ve just been sniping at some goon on twit about that.
Shocked that a penised bearded man would be acknowledged as a “lesbian” by JKR? Does language and definitions have no meaning any more? The mind boggles. I will vocally reject the idea that this guy is a lesbian.
Brian M, JKR is being sarcastic.
Ah. Of course. My bad.
Brian M,
Yes, I suspect it was a trap. She knew how people would react to her tweet about Alison and was ready with a Stonewall-approved ‘lesbian’ instead. It has strong Staniland Question vibes about it; objectors are hoist on their own petards.
That’s why I think it’s a genius move.
