I’ve seen other screenshots of his tweets, with contents which would suggest that Colin’s a bit thick; but this takes the biscuit. I find it hard to get into the mind of a man who seems to think like a toddler, but this is how he seems to be reasoning:
Five people were murdered at a gay LGBTQ club;
There are five letters in LGBTQ;
The LGB Alliance tweeted support for LGB people;
Therefore they only stand with three of the murder victims.
Does what’s left of his brain honestly think that one murder victim was lesbian, one was gay, one was bi, one was ‘trans’ and one was ‘queer’? My mind is boggled.
Thanks, tigger, that clears it up for me…at least, it comes up with something I can understand about the number two (not that I understand the working of his mind!)
I suspect he was trying to say something like about two types of potential victims, but he can’t write or think well enough to realize he didn’t say that.
I believe at least one of the victims was trans (specifically, a trans-identified female). It may be that there was a second trans victim, in which case Montgomerie’s tweet makes sense. Either way, although it pains me to say it, I think the LGB Alliance put their foot in their mouth with this one. (Of course, Montgomerie is still engaging in bad-faith provocation here.)
I generally don’t think much of using someone’s chosen name. Unlike pronouns, it’s not asking me to lie about what I see.* But if someone has chosen a name of their own for whatever reason, I’ll use it, even if it is a TiM or TiF.
Except for in the case of Colin Montgomerie. He’s so obnoxious, I love when people call him Colin.

I know where I’d prefer to stand, and that’s near the hero of the story, Army veteran, NG trainer, brewer, and all-round kickass dude Richard Fierro.

Addendum: two of the five people murdered were trans, so presumably that’s what Montgomerie was getting at.
