We’re number 5!
Oh yay, we’ve got some of the world’s worst air quality today. Go Seattle!
As the days of smoke-filled air from ongoing wildfires in the Cascades continue, air quality in Seattle remains an issue.
It’s been unremittingly bad for two weeks now. Today it’s worse.
The city ranked fifth worldwide for
poor[bad] air quality and pollution as of Wednesday morning, according to IQAir, a Swiss air-quality technology company that also operates a real-time air-quality information platform. Portland and Vancouver, B.C., also ranked in the Top 10, along with cities in China, India and Pakistan.
Air quality is so bad in Portland today that I talked my beloved to wear an actual N95 particle mask while driving to work. She’s been coughing because of it for days. It smells like the bottom of an ashtray.
Ya I just went out for a short walk & wore an N95. It’s gruesome out there – stinks.
Two websites that can give you data on air quality in many places.
https://waqi.info/
Gives recent data from monitering stations.
https://earth.nullschool.net/
Gives lots of weather related data worldwide.
It defaults to showing wind. If you click on ‘Earth’ in the lower left, you get options for displaying many other data including ‘particulates’.
I’m consulting multiple air quality sites multiple times a day every day right now. We’re in the damn purple now – almost as bad as it gets.
