Uncle Tom Cobbley and all
BradfemlyWalsh shared the best tweet from the Allison Bailey tribunal to date:
“Yes KM, his support person, his mother and his support dog.”
It’s a gift, I tells ya.
KM by the way is the “Head of Trans inclusion at Stonewall” who wrote to Garden Court Chambers to complain about Allison.
I wonder if he had his mother and his support person and his support dog with him when he sent that complaint.
Maybe the dog sent it. After all, on the internet nobody knows you’re a dog.
Instead of the dog eating his homework, the dog did his homework.
How Monty Pythonesque.
But what about the horse he rode in on?
“her association with yourselves”
Ouch.
I’m starting to think emotional support dogs are not all they’re cracked up to be if they need to be backed up by a support person AND a mother.
Catwhisperer, I wondered how inadequate the mother felt, that all the support and comfort she can provide is so inadequate that both an additional support person AND a dog is required. I feel for her.
I also wonder what the hell Stonewall were thinking that they employ an advocate who is so utterly fragile that they can’t function professionally without this level of coddling, and that they are such a poor team player that just five weeks into their job they are dragging the organisation into a legal fight because they didn’t seek counsel and input from other team members. Then again, given what a shitshow Stonewall seems to have become, maybe it’s just not surprising at all.
I’ve never heard of anyone so fragile.
Fair point a about the mother’s feelings, Rob. I was looking at it as an escalation of support people: The dog is a constant benevolent presence, just giving off good vibes. The support person (non-binary, I can only assume) is there to give support and say the right things in this particular situation (is it a friend? A co-worker? Union rep? Who knows) and then finally mother, who thinks her precious darling can do no wrong and already has the car boot loaded up with eggs, so they can egg the other parties’ cars later on that night. The nuclear option in terms of support, if you will.
And I agree, how someone that fragile can have a job with “Head of” anything at all in the job title is astonishing.
Oh well if the Head of something is Head of Fragility or Self-absorption or Narcissism it might work out.
That would probably be the correct title for Head of Diversity and Inclusion, but it’s just not good optics to call it that.
