Subjects to avoid
Piers Morgan says he did not either censor Kate Smurthwaite on his tv chat show. Kate says he did.
On the list of alleged subjects to avoid was Morgan’s “vindictive obsession” with Meghan Markle, according to comedian and political activist Kate Smurthwaite…Smurthwaite continued: “They didn’t want me to get ‘too personal’ with Morgan. They didn’t want me criticising or seeking to explain his ‘vindictive obsession’ with [Meghan Markle].
“The main thing they didn’t want me to say was: ‘You know that no matter how many hours you spend slagging her off, she’s still not going to shag you?’. True. Funny. Insightful. What’s not to love?”
Not a thing.
After having a look at the article, I get the feeling the staff warn people from certain subjects on their own initiative, to prevent Piers going off on one. “For the love of god don’t bring up Meghan Markle when talking to him, he’s just really pissy about her. Just spare yourself and all of us the hassle, k?”
Hahahaha and Kate has no reason to inspire Piers Morgan to have a tantrum, right? Not comedy gold, right?
Morgan is a regular on Murdoch’s Sky News, and is always down on the ‘woke’ brigade. But the antonym of ‘woke’ has to be ‘asleep’ or equivalent, which ironically and by inference applies to their own followers (as a term of praise.) Naturally, if their following is asleep, it is easier to pick said following’s pockets.
But it also applies to themselves. As ‘unwoke’ they are zombies and sleepwalkers. Sleepwalking is not to be recommended, as it can land one in all sorts of bother.
(Not to be confused with The Sleepwalkers, an excellent book by Artrhur Koestler.)
Piers Morgan is probably just fuming because not only is Kate Smurthwaite funnier than he is, she’s about ten times smarter.
