So amusing
Joanne Harris (Society of Authors important person) is still doing her Sneer At The Feminists thing.
Hur hur Hadley Freeman geddit – the fact that the Guardian wouldn’t let her write about gender ideology doesn’t mean she was canceled hur hur it just means she couldn’t write in the Guardian about an important trend harmful to women despite being a female, feminist columnist at the Guardian. That’s not being canceled hur hur.
It is too so funny hur hur!
Just the SOA hur hur!
I was speaking to an author recently with a few well-regarded books under her belt who was absolutely certain that if she TERFed under her real name she would lose her livelihood. She said there are very few authors who could pull it off, in the current environment.
This does not seem like something to joke about.
latsot, I can verify that. As a playwright, I cannot submit any of my gender critical plays if I want to be produced, even in my plays that have nothing to do with feminists or feminism (yes, I do have a few). It’s pernicious.
That sounds like a sneering tweet from a smart-arse sixth former. She’s Chair of the Society of Authors, not the Snide Queen of Edge City. What is it with people in supposedly serious organisations acting like nasty teenagers? It’s like ACLU repeating mantras in caps.
