Rage away, pandas
DOCTOR Jordan P. is mad now. You’ve dissed him one too many. He’s taking his genius and going home.
Ah yes the facts, such as “idiot philosophy” for instance.
Those are facts!!
There are no cynical manipulators where he’s going.
I caught this in passing – he was referring to a picture of a woman in a bikini. A little advice to men – don’t comment on a woman in a bikini unless she’s an intimate and she asks you for your opinion.
Also a supposedly conservative intellectual should be haughtily above this kind of thing. It’s tabloid behaviour.
I guess he’s sticking with the Twiggy standard of beauty then, it’s what he’s been conditioned to find beautiful. Not budging on that one it looks like. Completely ignoring the fact that this is conspicuous objectification of women and always has been. The fact that there are no men’s SI swimsuit issues confirms the sexism. Unless you count the trans dude of course. Where are JP’s comments about the woke agenda or PCness of that? Looks like he’s suffering from some cognitive dissonance nowadays. That’s OK Doc, have a steak, that’ll fix everything. :P
He’s a tabloid kind of guy, dressed up as a Very Serious Academic.
Standards of beauty vary culturally. That suggests that it is, in fact, culturally learned. They also change temporally. Sometimes, the Twiggy standard prevails, but in some times of our history, men have preferred somewhat curvier women. So no, not innate, not inborn, because, well, seriously?
Also, why is it that every woman on a cover should look beautiful? There are more important things to being a woman than being beautiful. And lest anyone accuse me of being a hag jealous of the beautiful girls on the covers, let it be known that in my youth I could turn heads with the best of them. Somehow that wasn’t what mattered. Oddly enough, I have always felt what mattered was personality, intellect, articulateness, and many other characteristics that have little or nothing to do with exterior appearances.
Someone has ruined Jordan Peterson’s wank break, and must be made to pay for it.
Fun fact: authoritarian manipulation of beauty standards stretches back to at least the Paleolithic, when ancient politically-correct social engineers carved the Venus of Willendorf. The same cabal of wokerati are also believed to have infiltrated terracotta workshops in Tang China and Peter Paul Rubens’ studio in seventeenth-century Holland.
Those with the most passing interest in art or anthropology know that standards of female beauty differ across historical periods and cultures. Pale skin was a requirement for beauty in the western world, as it was also a sign of wealth – peasants working outside were tanned. Then around 1920 rich women could sun bathe while poorer women had to pallidly work in offices. So tanned skin became desirable. The skinniness of Hollywood actresses would not have been thought much of in Restoration England. There is one culture (can’t remember which) where the girls are force fed like geese to become as fat as possible. The toned and muscly female body, the pursuit of which takes so many to the gym, would be far too unfeminine for a Victorian woman.
Matthew Sweet, the guy who corrected Naomi Wolf’s fundamental errors in her history book, tweets:-
“I see the incels’ Erich von Daniken will no longer be sharing his insights here. Ah well.”

@7 Anecdotal, but I heard that in some cultures where food is not abundant, that the men in those cultures see overweight women as a sign of health and prosperity, and therefore desirable and attractive. Wish I could remember where I heard it or where exactly this was happening. Ah well, to each his or her own…
I was curious about the “Sorry. Not beautiful…” tweet, suspecting that it was in reply to a magazine cover or something. I was correct, he was talking about the attractiveness of a swimwear model apparently unaware that attractiveness is subjective and I for one would describe her as hot. A large number of cro-magnon replyers in that thread miss that point.
“the incels’ Erich von Daniken” – hahahahahahaha
I keep coming back to this title. I’m thinking about changing my nym to rage panda.
‘Chariots of the Chads.’
I can see it now.
