Kinder and more generous than you
An item from yesterday:
This is of interest because Featherstone is a former LibDem MP.
That’s a lot of bad packed into one brief retort. The final sentence is a passive-aggressive insult, but it’s the first that’s so striking – flatter yourself in public much?
If the heart of the real issue is equality, why are women being bullied to put men’s demands ahead of our own rights?
Yes she does attack, yes she is rude, she has no idea how to reason.
Nimco today:
Same.
I note the frequent use of Nimco’s name; Lynne repeats it in nearly every tweet. At a certain point it gives the effect of a tutor or parent lecturing (if not to say hectoring) a child. I suspect this may not be accidental.
No, I am sure this is quite intentional. She is talking to Nimco as if she were her servant, or former servant. “I thought I could trust you. I thought you were better than this. Why aren’t you following my example? You are bringing shame to me. Heel.”
It’s absolutely shocking. Makes me go all bristly every time I read it again. (I retorted yesterday so like everyone else who retorted I’m now blocked.)
I thought, patronising cow. Or, syrupy headmistress. “I’m not angry at you, Nimko, just disappointed. You’ve let yourself down and you’ve let me down. Just think of that.”
@DD – yeah – anyone who keeps using your name is some kind of ‘splainer.
Never heard of Nimco Ali until this OP, looks like have a new follow on the twitter machine. More power to the calm, clear, and rational women of the world.
Nimco’s response to this was pretty good, but I would have gone with “If you were those things, you’d agree with JKR.”
