Even when they know it’s a ploy
Oh look, the LA Times even knows and admits that the guy convicted of assaulting a child could be faking the trans thing but still it refers to him as a woman.
As he’s faced increased criticism from law enforcement, elected officials and his own staff, Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George Gascón has staunchly defended his handling of a politically fraught case: the prosecution of a transgender woman charged with sexually assaulting a child in a Denny’s restroom.
…
In an interview Monday afternoon, Gascón said he first learned of the recordings Thursday through an email from a Fox News journalist. He described himself as “very, very upset” and disgusted with Tubbs, who he said had taken advantage of his office, by among other things, potentially identifying as transgender in a bid to get more lenient treatment.
Gee, ya think???
Who wouldn’t do that? For more lenient treatment and being locked up with women instead of men? It’s a win-win for the violent man who does it. Not so much for the women he’s locked up with, but for him it’s all good. So why do we keep referring to men who do this as women?
“It’s unfortunate that she gamed the system,” Gascón said. “If I had to do it all over again, she would be prosecuted in adult court.”
He. He gamed the system. He gamed it partly by claiming to be a she.
And by the way he wasn’t claiming to be a she when he ruined that girl’s life.
The victim, who has moved out of state and is still receiving therapy, released a statement Sunday describing the assault as “beyond horrible.”
“Not only do I have to live with that awful memory for the rest of my life, but I’m also given no true justice as to what happened to me,” she said.
Tubbs assaulted the girl in the restaurant bathroom in 2014, grabbing her by the neck and locking her into a stall. At the time, Tubbs had not transitioned to female and went by a male name. She was also charged under that name. The crime went unsolved until 2019 when DNA evidence pointed to Tubbs, who had by then amassed an adult record of arrests for battery, assault, drug possession and other crimes.
Emphasis added.
Yet the DA and the Times still piously refer to this loathsome man as “she.”
Too bad the terms crossdresser and transvestite (which mean basically the same thing) have been ‘sensitivity read’ out of the language, as there would be no question that it was a male. Further down they use the phrase ‘transgender woman’ which is also wrong, even in trans jargon. Illiterates.
@1: How is wrong in trans jargon? (I’m not expert in trans jargon.)
How could you be? It changes constantly. Just when you figure out what is OK to say, they’re trashing you for saying just that, because now it’s transphobic.
Since it is all delusion or internet nonsense anyway…what does “faking it” even mean?
@2 Why transwomen are women of course! A transgender woman could be a “transman” like Chasio. I think it’s deliberately confusing.
It’s “ Trans Woman” — like black woman, tall woman, blond woman. I get flack for “transwomen.”
What is appalling is that being “transgender” could get a criminal more lenient treatment from Gascon. Who cares if he is faking being a fake thing (transgender)? The fact that men have found a new way to do a not-like-the-other-guys scam is what is disgusting to see.
I’ll be blunt, here. I’m a large guy, but I’m not a fighter, nor particularly fit. If I were arrested (presumably for something I didn’t do) and looking at jail time, in a jurisdiction that used Self-ID as the basis for cell assignment, I would ‘transition’ so fast it’d make the arresting officer’s head spin. Not to prey on women, but to avoid being preyed upon by stronger, violent men.
And that would be wrong. But I’d do it anyway, and then do the utmost to minimize my impact on the female inmates (in part, honestly, because most of THEM could probably kick my ass, too). But it would be a survival decision.
And it would still be wrong.
So the notion that someone who IS actively seeking to predate on women would somehow not come to the same conclusion, and take the same course of action, is absurd.
Look, assaulting a child may be bad, mmkay, but misgendering a pedophile is VIOLENCE.
Retroactively female, AND retroactively ‘juvenile?’ Who sentences a 26 year old felon into juvenile custody?

“Just when you figure out what is OK to say, they’re trashing you for saying just that, because now it’s transphobic.”
The euphemism treadmill. When something is, rightly or wrongly, perceived as a bad thing, the words for it keep changing because the old ones become insults.
