Don’t you eclipse our decades of work
Strangio is not honest.
That’s not why. The reason we upbraid the ACLU is the insistence on erasing the word “women” from all their advertising and commentary on abortion rights. We don’t think it’s possible to defend our rights effectively without ever mentioning us. We also don’t think there’s anything social justicey or otherwise admirable about shoving the subordinated sex back into the closet marked SUBORDINATE.
Also, by the way, of course Strangio’s colleagues haven’t spent their entire lives litigating abortion cases. They didn’t start at birth, or at age 1, or at age 10, or at age 20. Entire careers is possible; entire lives is not. Lawyers are supposed to be precise with their wording.
If Strangio is part of the deal, then they would probably make getting an abortion continent on affirming that TWAW. No agreement? Don’t know what you think? Haven’t thought about it much? No abortion for you!
What with erasing women, and fighting to put men and boys on women’s and girls’ sports teams, I’d say they’re doing a bang up job of eclipsing their decades of work all by themselves.
Strangio has made it clear that she’s a hack, by any measure.
The ACLU doesn’t just “defend trans people”… if that’s all they did it would be a different story. Defending the actual human rights or civil liberties of trans people isn’t a problem in the least. The trouble is they are promoting a trans agenda that wants to grant special rights to trans people, and special status at the expense of women’s rights. It’s just another attempt to piggyback trans issues with anything that resembles legitimate women’s or LGB issues. Chasio still doesn’t understand (or pretends not to) the difference between sexual preference and gender bending. Even if Chasio is trans, that doesn’t tell us what her sexual preferences are (as if we care), and if she were any good at transing, she wouldn’t need pronouns or pronouncements either.
The philosophy that womanhood is an attitude of subordination and nothing else is completely incompatible with women’s liberation. It’s the same old hatred in a new disguise. Strangio is a leader of this new misogyny. She has done more to hurt women, and bring the ACLU into attacking women, than almost anybody around. The lies add up. The ACLU can’t be considered a pro-woman organization, or an honest one, until she leaves, and they recant this litany of lies.
