At least it’s not Oświęcim Pride
Well now what’s the problem with this? Just a harmless bit of fun isn’t it? Exaggeration for comic effect?
No. Why? Because the threat is of a type that is not exaggerated or fictional. Whether the people who display the banner mean it or not, the words are all too familiar to women. Sexual violence is a tool to punish, dominate, control women. Forcing a woman to suck a huge cock is a way to humiliate, disgust, punish, harm her. Saying “women who disagree with us can suck our huge cocks” is not funny to women, just as threats of whipping or lynching are not funny to black people or Zyklon B jokes to Jews. “If you don’t do what we tell you we will make you do it” is not funny to an oppressed class. Union-busting isn’t funny to workers, and forced fellatio isn’t funny to women.
It’s like they’re gloating because they know they can get by with anything and still be pampered by society as “the most oppressed.”
“Be kind”. Got it.
I guess everyone’s already familiar with the “Oh? You’re trans? Then do whatever you want.” line from the [very problematic] “Family Guy.”
It’s true about the gloating. They can’t believe their luck. “This used to be forbidden but now all we have to do is put some waffle about trans cocks in front and we can get away with it.”
You particularly have to wonder why they would go to the trouble of preparing that sign in English for Dresden Pride.
Naif,
“You particularly have to wonder why they would go to the trouble of preparing that sign in English for Dresden Pride.”
Good point. Has this been verified? Are we being trolled?
Good question.
I see a couple of people commenting on the thread who say it’s Die Linke:

https://twitter.com/RuprechtXavier/status/1566466940008366082
“Talking of history, this is a Die Linke affiliated event & banner, they were previously the PDS, before that they were the SED- the ruling party of authoritarian East Germany.”
Maybe it’s in English because the source material is? Anyway the two guys in Germany don’t seem to think it’s fake.
Are we being trolled?
Possibly. Being obsessed with size is typical of average men too, so maybe even specifically for tims?
Seems like too typical. Maybe more probably coming from MRA or incel. The kind of punishing fantasy would match better. The typical narrative of tims seems more about direct violent threats (punch, beat, kill terfs).
I assume they had the sign done in English so they could reach the broadest possible audience, wasn’t implying that it was a fake.
Laurent – the boundary between MRA and the TRAs is very, very thin
It probably is in English because prides often attract an international public and if you want your message to be understood by as many as possible, English is the language to use.
A bit off subject…but I was dismayed to find that the honorable Harriet Hall has gone full doctrinaire trans:
“Descovy is not recommended for people assigned female at birth who could get HIV through receptive vaginal sex…”
https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/prep-for-hiv-aids/
Ah right, English as the lingua franca; I’d forgotten that.
Laurent, I’ve seen a number of instances where TiMs tell “TERFs” (broadly defined) to “suck my girldick”. I guess it’s more a male thing than an MRA thing.
@iknklast #13
That’s right. My point was more about the use of “huge”, which, I suppose, would be more rarely used by tims, since however deluded as they may be, this claim would not specifically make them more… feminine or whatever (even accounting for the recent dogma that women as a sex category could have a penis). So to me this specifically sounds like an external slogan, and indeed a troll. Indeed, if having a penis is such a distress and narcissistic wound to people who think they are the opposite sex, they wouldn’t claim theirs as huge, it wouldn’t make much sense (but again, making sense is somehow at the heart of these “issues”).
But to be frank, how much should we really discuss such matters is only proof that the world’s gone wrong, like really wrong.
I know women, not trans in any way but trans “allies”, who use the phrase “suck my girldick”. I don’t know why “girldick” might be preferable to referring to “dick”, but neither makes sense anyway.
Re Harriet Hall, she may be following the requirements of the site, given all the trouble she got into there when she wrote the review of Shrier’s book.
Re: Harriet Hall
One possibility I thought of is that it was a case of word it that way or they wouldn’t post it.
Is Discovy the one where in the TV commercials they say it’s “not recommended for people assigned female at birth”?
And the assymetry. In the last paragraph of her post that it’s “gay and bisexual men” and not “gay and bisexual people assigned male at birth”. An editorial “miss”?
