And we see a level of fury here
The tribunal is looking into the issue of the hostile work environment too.
A level of fury. There always is, isn’t there. There’s always a Karen.
And the “belief,” let’s remember, is that a trans woman is not literally a woman. In other words compared with the contrary belief it’s not really a “belief” at all but just the default. It’s the contrary view that’s a belief, but the CGD view is that the default is not worthy of respect while the fanciful contrary view is. Backwards in short.
There’s another argument one could get into here, about whether this kind of humoring is in fact for others’ dignity at all. Does it really enhance the dignity of adults to play let’s pretend with them? Is there any end point? What if adults start saying they identify as snakes, aardvarks, trees, cars, planets? How much pretending must be humored and flattered?
So to sum up:
Boom.
Who is AG?
Wow, does BC bang down the hammer of logic.
I’m reading Maya’s witness statement. My brain, already struggling because of my health issues pre-COVID, is finding the task exhausting; so I can only read about fifty paragraphs a day. It might take me a while to find a place where ‘AG’ is mentioned. This is frustrating for me; not least because I used to be able read very, very quickly and retain necessary information. Aging sucks. Long-term illness sucks. Disability sucks. COVID-19 sucks. At this stage, don’t be surprised if I turn into a black hole.

Rather than wait for me, it would probably be quicker for someone with an active Twitter account to follow @tribunaltweets and go back to the tweet where the initials were explained.
Aha! In paragraph 60 I have come across a mention of someone likely to be AG – Amanda Glassman.
Sorry! I didn’t mean to be cryptic. I didn’t know who AG and BC were either at first, but it was clear that BC is a lawyer and team Maya while AG is team people who pushed Maya out.
I just discovered that Maya Forstater has all the live tweets from her employment tribunal versus the CGD (so far) posted very neatly on one very long web page:
https://hiyamaya.net/livetweets-from-the-tribunal/
The web page starts with a list of abbreviations that confirms AG is Amanda Glassman. I did an Internet search that found the CGD says she is Executive Vice President of CGD, CEO of CGD Europe, and Senior Fellow. So it makes sense that the tribunal called on Glassman to explain CGD culture. And as we know, Glassman confirmed her position that Maya’s belief itself (not just manifestation of belief) was NWORIADS (not worthy of respect in a democratic society) and against the dignity of others. The web page of live tweets is searchable, e.g. a search for “culture” was interesting to me.
The web page of live tweets also has the same link to Maya’s witness statement that tigger posted above in #2. A funny point is how long it must have been as entered into the court record, because the live tweets cite page numbers as high as “page 2171” (assuming “page 9105” was a typo for page 1905).
At the end of the live tweets, the employment judge (EJ) said they will deliberate, and they set April 7th to meet, but they cannot predict how far they will get in that time. April 7th is tomorrow, so we might see more activity then.
Thank you Dave, very useful!
