Oh lord I’d forgotten Jason Stanley was this guy. I can’t keep track of them – the Daily Nous guy and Stanley and the guy in Vancouver and that other guy and the other one. But Jason Stanley is the hell yes I’m self-important guy.
He says, typing the most embarrassing tweet in human history.
That’s hilarious.
Who the hell does the hiring for philosophy departments, anyway? There are an awful lot of batshit professors of philosophy around.
Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one reading all these blog posts and wondering who the hell this bloke is.
Also, the more of his tweets you link, Ophelia, the more I’m wondering who the hell this bloke thinks he is.
Has anyone seen this guy and Rachel MacKinnon in the same room? Similar smugness.
And. 200 years? That one tweet is going to outlast any philosophy has ever written or will ever write.
Well we’ve all heard of him now, maybe that was his cunning plan.
Wow. No words.
It’s far from the most embarrassing aspect of his tweet, but he means “not still reading” rather than “still not reading”. I have to say that I still won’t be.
He also doesn’t seem clear on the distinction between self-important, which is what he is, and important, which is what people think he regards himself as.
Right? He can’t even type tweets with accurate enough syntax to make the points he wants to make, yet…
Also the 200 years thing. As if there will still be humans then, still reading books.
