About ANY minority
Giant brain on that Willz.
Is that right? So no films about the January 6 mob? No films about the Proud Boys? No films about incels? No films about abusers in police departments? No films about any set of people unless there are at least 4 billion of them?
Who made that rule? Why have there been no films about it?
Ha! Yes, that’s a minority, too.
It really is amazing how the concept of a persecuted minority group has been expanded into this weird assumption that ANY minority must perforce be persecuted, and that NO minority is any threat whatsoever. Examples of minority persecution of the majority abound.
And the film isn’t about a minority being a threat to society. Perhaps he should actually watch the film, or read about it from people who produced it or who have watched it.
The word “minority” has become a kind of social justice jargon. Not a very helpful jargon, either.
Closer now to “Minority Report” where
peoplewomen are convicted of thought crimes before they’ve had a chance to form a thought.Hey, you can make any group a ‘minority’ by adding enough adjectives:
Straight white men are a minority. For that matter, so are billionaires.
Really, more often than not, the danger isn’t from a majority of the population; it’s from a minority population that exerts power and influence beyond their numbers. True liberation movements seek to gain a fair portion of representation and rights.
