Sit down Bruce
Some people think much too well of themselves.
Former reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner is talking with political consultants as she actively explores a run for governor of California, three sources with direct knowledge of her deliberations tell Axios.
Based on what? Being a self-obsessed nitwit? What possible qualifications could that boring vain narcissistic twerp have for being governor of a state that’s larger than many countries? Not to mention the fact that he killed a woman by crashing into her car when she was stopped at a red light. Who would want a governor who killed someone by driving badly?
Why not? Donald Trump ran for president of the US many times, and on his last joke run, he actually won.
You answered your own question.
Well, yes.
Bruce should have been convicted of gross negligence and vehicular homicide if you ask me. The stupid asshole was towing a trailer and following too close, causing him to be unable to avoid a collision that killed someone. If not for his unearned celebrity entitlement status, he would still be in prison for that stunt. Not just a shitty driver, but a completely irresponsible menace to the public. He should, at the very least, have lost his driving privelege over that, but since he’s some no talent famous asshole now, he gets away with killing someone with no consequences. Now he prances around with his designer dresses and phony tits and considers a run for governor? I’d take The Governator any day of the week and twice on Sunday over that POS.
Jenner is 71 years old. Sit back and enjoy retirement, for chrissakes. Must we have every old white male in the country running for office? That to me was a huge downside with Biden. I’m sick of people who are so old being the ones who get elected. Not that I think the woke generation would be good leaders (at least not the woke ones) but surely there is some happy medium.
@5 I think so too, there are plenty of qualified and responsible, intelligent people who could do a fine job. People in the younger generations for sure, but the trouble is they are probably too intelligent and responsible to enter into the sleazy swamp that is politics. My daughter is Gen Y (or Millennial) and she would never consider such a preposterous idea.
Before we get carried away with the thought of wonderful young people getting into politics, in the last week I’ve seen tweets about two different trump progeny and Guiliani’s useless golfer kid all making moves to do so. I disagree with plenty of old peoples politics, but I’d take a sensible middle of the road elder like Warren or the Terminator over oxygen thieves like those others any day.
Hunter Biden should announce that he’s running for high office. Republican heads would be bursting off like Champagne corks all across the country.
Particularly ironic if one considers the etymological meaning of gubernator.
Truth about the following too close aspect of Jenner’s killing. Following too close is the polite term for it, it’s also known as tailgating and I detest tailgaters, for exactly this reason as well as the aggression and entitlement of it. Driving isn’t a game, and people in cars need to keep in mind the inherent dangers of hurtling around in a huge metal object.
After the elevation of Arnold Schwarzeneggar, the California republicans know that they can thwart elections and impose any puppet they want.
Didn’t they know that when Reagan became governor?
Rob, I definitely agree with that. I would hate to see one of these trans-allies uber-woke youngsters calling women Karen all the time become president. But I do think we could get younger than someone in their 70s and get sensible, capable, stable, and mature politics.
I agree, it would be nice. I have very little tolerance for the attitude amongst many people, but especially the young, that ‘the system is broken and therefore I won’t engage with it.’ I find politics deeply weird and horrible and I wouldn’t personally want to be a politician. On the other hand, I vote, I attend selected protests and more to the point I make submissions on local and national level Government proposals and I’m not afraid to write to politicians or stop them in the street to give them my opinion (constructively, generally). Politics is the art of the achievable it’s been said. That’s certainly true for both better and worse. A ‘good’ politician judges very finely what they can achieve.
It’s probably not very nice to say so, but for me one of the selling points of Joe Biden was that if he died in office you would have Kamala Harris as President. You could do a lot worse.
