That’s not how it works. Sorry. I hope that this picture won’t be going into a highschool biology textbook.
Why not just teach spontaneous generation? It’s about as scientific as “penis-havers can grow fetuses inside themselves as long as they have bouquets of flowers inside”.
As any woman who has given birth knows, it is painful as hell to squeeze a baby out an opening smaller than the baby. Penises have much smaller openings than vaginas; it would rip the penis into shreds to try to deliver a full size, full term baby. It would rip the penis into shreds to deliver a premature baby. Think kidney stones are painful? Prepare for kidney stones x several orders of magnitude. Good luck, guys.
This sort of bullshit is detrimental to girls everywhere (and women, too). It is also detrimental to biology. And to truth. Young people often have a distorted view of the birth process; this just distorts it further.
I think someone here (I think I vaguely remember her name) wrote an entire book about Why Truth Matters. This is why truth matters.
@iknklast That book is how I discovered the B&W blog in the first place. How I stumbled across the book, I don’t remember. But I think it was totally accidental, like I picked it up at an airport bookstore or something like that. The universe works in mysterious ways.
The illustration leads me to think that they expect the baby to emerge through the anus. That raises a whole set of questions regarding the digestive tract.
Or possibly those flowers are supposed to represent female genitalia, as discussed here:
about a campaign where women are asked to find a cat that matches their “undercarriage/flower/bits (technical term, vulva!)”. Perhaps the artist couldn’t draw female genitalia, or perhaps the artist finds female genitalia offensive; it wouldn’t be the first time where men-who-want-to-be-women are disgusted by the reality of actual women.
The illustration leads me to think that they expect the baby to emerge through the anus.
I read somewhere online (I can’t find it on Google now) that some (many?) male transpeople (who claim to be female) rename their anus “vagina”, and their penis “clitoris”. So that would be fitting.
it wouldn’t be the first time where men-who-want-to-be-women are disgusted by the reality of actual women.
” … trans women are actually beautiful cis women bodies gross me out all the gross liquids that comes out from your bodies I don’t know just gross i wish all women were trans …”
I think the illustration indicates that the baby will come out of the anus. Fortunately, the illustration also indicates that this guy’s sh*t definitely doesn’t stink. Smells like a room freshener, looks like.
Interesting that so many TIM’s make such a dreamy fuss over their being pregnant. I don’t see a lot of them picturing themselves surrounded by children they’ve fed, bathed, clothed, taken to school and doctors, and cared for physically and emotionally till they’re exhausted but sooo worth it. I don’t hear about husbands declaring they’re transgender and subsequently taking over the ‘lion’s share’ of childcare. Must not validate the part of womanhood they’re focused on.

Interesting indeed, and so sadly typical. Research has repeatedly found that men think they do a far bigger share of the household duties than they actually do. This is just more of that. Being a laydee is all about the priddy hair and the dainty skirts and the flowery baybee in the tummeee, it’s not about doing the dishes and laundry and floors and toilets and and and
That book is how I discovered the B&W blog in the first place
I got here through Does God Hate Women?. Guess any way of getting here is good, just so long as we found B&W.
Research has repeatedly found that men think they do a far bigger share of the household duties than they actually do.
When my ex and I were in a couples counseling session, my ex was telling my doctor he hoped I would get better soon, because he was tired of having to do half the housework. My doctor found that…well, let’s just say, he saw no reason why a man shouldn’t do half the housework, especially when the woman was bringing in 60% of the money and working 150% of the hours the man worked.
But after my ex left (he was still my husband then), my doctor asked if he actually did half the housework; he suspected not. I told him sure, if we only went to the grocery store once in the 7 years we’d been married, and never washed laundry. I will admit, he did make the bed every morning, but that was because he was still in it when I left for work.
Huh, biology is just a matter of the imagination. Neat! Laydeez, the next time you are being assaulted by a large man, just imagine yourself as an even larger man temporarily!
I worked at Newcastle University for years and there was a copy of The Dictionary of Fashionable Nonsense in the window of the bookshop on the edge of the campus the whole time.
.I should point out that it wasn’t just the only copy they had and nobody bought it. For one thing, I bought a copy. For another, other books in the window were changed, that one was not. Someone in the shop must have liked it being there.
Weirdness: the illustration is captioned #pregnantman and #seahorsedad, and various trans tags.
But seahorse dad is a term used by trans men, and the only trans people who would call themselves “pregnant men” are trans men (see every pregnant man story ever).
The illustration on the other hand, features male anatomy – a normal penis and testes, not a neo penis or other surgical results.
So I’m honestly confused, even within the context of the usual trans upside down through the looking glass world.
I mean, it seems transphobic under the terms of what’s usually viewed as transphobia – “cruelly” pointing out biological differences.
@ Acolyte, seahorses because seahorses are a very rare species where the male does the gestating. A British trans man goes by this term, I think there’s a documentary. Sued to try and get child’s birth certificate altered to list the biological mother as father instead, but failed in court. See here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddy_McConnell
@GW, it’s nearly impossible to tell these days. It could be, or not, and it’s impossible to tell without knowing both the author and intent.
I find the mental gymnastics exhausting, which then further taxes my ability to comprehend and respond to the content, while simultaneously enraging me due to the myriad ways that the misleading and obfuscating language is used to enable absolute outrages against women, girls and so-called “trans kids”.
Sadly, I think it is probably not. It’s a little beyond the mainstream but I’d be surprised if many TRA supporters couldn’t be prompted into defending it given just a little sympathetic framing. Especially if they’re defending it against “some of the worst people in the world” who are automatically assumed to be mendaciously malicious. (or would maliciously mendacious work better?)
I think someone here (I think I vaguely remember her name) wrote an entire book about Why Truth Matters.
I’ve just been given a copy for my birthday; lucky me!
My take on the image is that it represents a trans man fantasy of having your babycake and eating it. It is not trying to suggest parturition either via urethra or some sort of cloacal arrangement; Instead it depicts both the (imagined) exultation of gravidity* along with possession of glorious male genitalia. The floral arrangement merely obscures the inconveniently necessary biological equipment — out of sight: out of mind.
Alternatively, it shows a novel interpretation of “invasive species” — I’ll just leave a few words hanging: tendril, runner, peritoneal cavity…
* no, that’s not the technically correct medical meaning; no, I dont care.
I believe the illustration depicts the wishful fantasy of the trans woman – they wish to be something they are not, and the flowers paper over some of the impossibility to make it easier to imagine. Something like:
1. “I identify as a woman”
2. ??????
3. Actual pregnancy
The flowers are the illustrative version of the ??????.

I suspect that screed is a troll attempt, similar to the recent 2+2=5 silliness, where some wag is presenting an item of lunacy in the language of the woke specifically to see if they take it up as a new mantra.
@ Holms, #33, it would be a good pictorial portrayal of the ultimate AGP fantasy, male body, well-loved male parts, real baby, real pregnancy, really read as “woman” and all the supposed glamour, privilege, love and affection etc that they imagine comes with it.
all the supposed glamour, privilege, love and affection etc that they imagine comes with it.
And without the inconvenience of an actually real period, the hormonal changes in the body, the swollen ankles, the morning sickness, labor pains, and the decidedly unglamorous activities of changing diapers, burping, breast pumping, not sleeping, etc.
And without all those other “wonderful, glamorous” parts of being a woman – being talked over, talked down to, making sandwiches, cleaning house while the husband who works fewer hours than you do is watching TV, doing laundry, making beds, etc etc etc ad infinitum.
The parts of being a woman that make me feel like I am almost certainly a woman are the parts that no transwoman really wants…the extra work. As for the condescension etc, they don’t mind that, because they can claim it is because they are trans, are surrounded by transphobia, poor them, and cis women have it so, so, so much better, because no one would ever dare to talk to a woman that way.
Absolutely. I am confident the vast majority of self identified trans women have NO IDEA what it’s like to be “treated like a woman”, and that goes double for the AGPS.
GW, #27 & Holms, #33: that screed is a classic example of Poe’s Law: the topic at hand is so far beyond parody that without further context it is impossible to seperate the satire from the serious.
Personally I think it’s one persons genuine attempt to intensify the hatred of women by the trans crowd. I don’t think that the author necessarily believes what they wrote, but nonetheless wants it to become a standard trans belief. It actually reads to me as though the author has taken the idea that all white people are racist by dint of being white and distorted it into a vindictive screed that is almost certain to be picked up and used by those who want to be women (whatever caricature of women they want to be) but know they will never achieve that goal, so the next best option is to downgrade genuine women by redefining the word to include the trans and exclude the genuine.
As for the condescension etc, they don’t mind that, because they can claim it is because they are trans
And that’s probably true for most of them, because they don’t actually pass as women, so people don’t think of them as women, so any condescension that they nonetheless receive probably really is because they are trans (or for entirely unrelated reasons). No?
That’s not a picture of birth. That’s pregnancy. I’m curious to see the picture of the birth.
That’s not how it works. Sorry. I hope that this picture won’t be going into a highschool biology textbook.

I’m guessing there expecting there to be a burgeoning cesarean market.

iknklast,
I imagine that long before the fetus has a chance to tear up the penis those flowers would cause some nasty infections and lacerations.
Perhaps the best characterization of what is shown in the drawing is an ectopic pregnancy.
If such a thing were to happen to a man, it would almost certainly be fatal.
The illustration leads me to think that they expect the baby to emerge through the anus. That raises a whole set of questions regarding the digestive tract.

Oh gosh all this worrying about how it’s going to get out. It’s not going to get out! It’s there forever, surrounded by flowers.
Re “It’s not going to get out!”, perhaps it is just absorbed into the body, like what is often called a “food baby”.

Maybe they want to change sex but not gender?
GW could you use blockquotes instead of italics for quoting? It’s just easier if we have a uniform style.

Arcadia, thank you for the #seahorsedad explanation. I was wondering if the loons had started to believe they can breathe underwater.
Do you think that this is satire?
