I feel that the fact that this is (presumably) a dogwhistle makes it all the more chilling.
Presumably they’d say they mean “was/were a customer” rather than “was/were alive” but they are quite aware that the phrase has been used many times in the latter sense with apparent perfect seriousness.
This implausible deniability in a public service means that not only do they advocate the murder of people who disagree with them, but they’re also openly part of a conspiracy to pretend they don’t. Which seems even worse than just flat out advocating murder.
I can’t see the screen shot either due to my content blockers. I either have to shut everything down and restart my browser, or go searching for whatever it is, which is what I usually do. Advertising has completely destroyed the internet, as if it wasn’t bad enough with “social” media… :P
These are apparently not actual subway signs, but posters designed to look like such signs, and crested and placed by an artist. A relative posted an image of a slightly different one, so I searched and found this article, among others.
Twiliter — my browser settings always block Twi**er stuff also, but in Firefox you can right-click on the link and select “open link in new tab” to see it.
Peter, I can see Twitter posts, but anything ad related gets blocked, but I get virtually nothing from Facebook or Google that’s perceived by the blocker as an advert. I have Safari (ios version) and 3 different content blockers, in addition to the Safari restrictions, so it’s pretty tight, but it makes surfing so much more user friendly. The amount of popups, paywalls, and sidebar ads is off the wall these days. Anyone remember when Google had search results that you didn’t have to scroll down half a dozen ads to see? It really is a plague.
I think those are the initials of the person tweeting for TransLink BC. All of the reply tweets in their feed have that at the end of the tweet (with varying initials). I saw one exchange where someone asked a question, got a reply with ^cm at the end and the questioner responded with ‘Thanks, cm!’
I just get…exhausted….by all the group identity stuff. I know some people feel a need to be part of a group, especially a group competing for a medal in the Victimization Olympics, but…
And I am supposedly part of the LGBTQZXTNHGFD acronym.
This makes me #NotProud to be a New Yorker. How dare they make me feel not proud during Pride

Dammit. It seems the tweets were deleted while I was asleep. Did anyone get screenshots?
Yes. I added it to the post.

Thanks, Ophelia!
Thank you, twiliter, for finding that link!
WTF does “^cm” mean?
No idea.
According to Urban Dictionary, “call me”, “criminal minds” or “cockmaster”.
I’m not sure that gets us anywhere.

Sackbut, that is a huge relief.

I thought it was probably fake, but the Metro account retweeted it, so that’s what I was pointing the censorious finger at.

They’re real posters, actually in the subway. There are a lot of things in the subway in honor of Pride

So color me confused.

cm should not be tweeting for Vancouver Metro.
Sackbut @ 17 – the CNN story doesn’t show that particular poster though.
Huh. Apparently they’re from a “guerilla” campaign 3 years ago.
