I read a suggestion the other day that he’d managed to ‘blow his tenure’, which I guess wouldn’t be a huge surprise given the evaluation letter published sometime last year. I’d be interested in more details. I also wonder if his partner’s activities contributed to his decision to move.
Wow, it seems Veronica Ivy spent his time cheating at cycling and promoting himself while ignoring almost all duties expected of someone wanting to advance in a tenure track position.
You did complete the small service projects assigned to you during your alternative duties in the spring of 2019. Beyond that, though, your service to the department this year was non-existent. You did not volunteer to assist with anything, and you failed to do even the minimal things that your service expectations letter reminded you that every department member is expected to do (and not receive any special credit for). You did not attend a single department meeting or event, either in person or by Skype, and so absented yourself from every departmental deliberation and activity. Though you have disability accommodations from the
EEO office, those accommodations say, “It is essential that all faculty attend department meetings and participate in the governance of the program.” At this point, you are simply not meeting your basic obligations as a citizen of the department
Hm, Good spot. It escaped my notice when I wrote that, but yes, McKinnon appears to be benefiting from some arrangement with that university’s equal opportunities office. Is transitioning the thing requiring accomodation? But I thought we weren’t supposed to medicalise transitioning…
What, Cyclepath is leaving? A line has been crossed? Not decency or honor, of course, that wouldn’t matter — maybe someone didn’t know WHO THEY ARE?
Surmise is he’s been pushed.
Maybe the college wants someone ethical to teach ethics.
Offering on social media to commit immigration fraud is very smart.

Remarkable, ain’t it.
Pretty scathing document for “satisfactory”, though I suppose “satisfactory” may be a bit of a euphemism in academics…
I think “satisfactory” here means “achieved the minimum needed to avoid removal from tenure”.
disability accommodations? Rachel Veronica McKinnon Ivy needs some kind of disability accommodations?
