Found this in Spanish. She’s the Vice President of the Spanish government (not quite parallel to our Vice President; more like a Deputy Prime Minister). She’s opposed to the Trans law. The effigy was hung in Santiago de Compostela, which is a major university city (and also the terminus of the Camino de Santiago). The sign says (in Gallego, not Castellano) “I’ve lost…. Where is the patriarchy?” Apparently an attack on the group Rad Fem Compostela.
What it comes down to is a squabble between coalition partners about process, not substance. The junior partner, Podemos (roughly speaking the populist woke left) wants to pass a stand-alone bill on trans rights, while the senior partner, the Socialists, represented by Calvo, basically says it’s half-baked and want to incorporate it into a broader LGBTQI bill. As far as I can tell, the bill wouldn’t actually change much, because the courts have already ruled that people have medical autonomy at 16, due to an abortion law that the Socialists passed years ago.
I probably should follow Spanish politics more closely, but it’s all so dreary.

Ah thank you.
That’s…horrible.
