Deal with what?
But it’s not dehumanizing.
But it’s not dehumanizing. Women are human. Saying a woman is a woman isn’t dehumanizing her. You can call it rude or unkind if you like, but it’s not even slightly dehumanizing. Women and men are both human.
He’s 38 years old. I do find that slightly shocking. People should be reasonably adult by that age.
Maybe it’s Chase who thinks women are less than human.
Bingo.
I’m guessing that Strangio transitioned after puberty?
It’s weird. On one hand, TAs are insisting that kids who are too young to drink, vote, or join the military, are perfectly competent to consent to crippling, irreversible medical decisions. This “choice” is being thrust upon minors by adults who have betrayed their duty to safeguard these children; adults who should know better, but who have negligently failed to keep track of how many children they’ve actually “treated,” or follow up with their outcomes. These decisions will likely render most of these children sterile, sexually disfunctional, physically and mentally underveloped, and permanently, medically dependent. Those who are kept from desisting, as most naturally would under “watchful waiting,” are being shunted away from the chance to become healthy, whole adults. Criminal and tragic.
That would explain a lot, if Strangio thinks of “his” transition as “upward mobility.” Who wants to be reminded of their past if they are somehow ashamed or embarrassed of it? I can see for some individuals that trying to avoid their “deadname” is a way to escape the (criminal?) record of their “previous” life, even though that life is still their’s and nobody else’s. I’m not inclined to let isuch individuals so easily discard a past that includes things which are actually shameful and illegal. Maybe Chase thought “he” was escaping a burning building or war zone. Maybe Chase is dealing with the fact that the “escape” has not been as complete or successful as “he” hoped it would be?
It could also be a combination of transperbole and projection, too. Gender Critical feminists are accused of being Nazis and taking pleasure in “harming trans kids,” but I’ve not heard of any instances of trans spokespeople being threatened with death, or being invited to die in grease fires from our side. As for “harming” trans kids, GC types aren’t promoting suicidal ideation, and are not ushering young people into unneccessary surgery, and lifelong medicalization.
In the immortal words of Magdalen Berns, “I’d rather be rude than a fucking liar.”
Does Chase get extra bonus points for being both?
Was “He” a typo?
I forget. Probably – except not so much a typo as pronouns are Rohypnol.
