Actually it’s an insult
Good timing. Good front paging.
The headline at the top is a man bragging about being a woman while directly under that is more coverage of a woman who was grabbed off the street and murdered.
If being a woman were a promotion, if it were an honour, women wouldn’t get grabbed off the streets and murdered.
I’m so tired of this self-indulgent self-centered nonsense that shoves women aside for the sake of narcissistic men who play at being women. So tired of it.
Damn. That’s awful.
So easy for Eddie, isn’t it, with his wealth, his profile, his adoring fans, and his male privilege.
Not so easy for Sarah Everard, who did all the things women are told they must do to “protect themselves”.
But none of that was sufficient to protect her from a predator, a predatory police officer, one who may have even used his police ID to make her feel safe.

Izzard has not been ‘promoted’ to anything, but he clearly wants us to believe that womanhood was bestowed upon him by others rather than something he has claimed for himself. He might just be deep enough into his delusion to believe that those around him are using his preferred pronouns out of respect and honour for him, and it’s this that he believes is a form of official recognition for his new persona, but if so, he must also be deliberately ignoring the atmosphere of threats and abuse that actually motivates most of the compliance with the trans dogma – or sees it but can’t relate it to his own fabulousness because the people who fawn over him are so obviously genuine in their praise.
Fucking narcissistic arsehole.

That picture damn near broke me when I saw it last night.
For what it’s worth, in the article (https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/mar/12/eddie-izzard-ive-had-boob-envy-since-my-teens) Izzard comes across as about as self-indulgent as it’s possible to get. And yes, you read the URL right.
It’s hard to pick the most infuriating part, because all the parts are infuriating in completely different ways so I’ll just paste this bit, without comment:
OK, one comment: bellend.
Why is he glaring?
*gasp*
That’s not glaring, that’s a womanly seductive but forthright gaze! How dare you!
He couldn’t resist the head tilt, could he?
It’s only slight, but it’s there.
Translating:
There is another fight, though, that he thinks is utterly pointless – between men and feminists. He believes women should be surrendering to men, not putting up this unbecoming, losing fight. “It saddens me. How do we make women change that conversation? I can’t come up with a magic wand, because I don’t want to and I’m threatening women as we speak, and provide an answer for women. I’m just trying to create a space for myself (fuck those women, really, such bigots) and anybody else (voyeurs, harassers, jerks, LARPers, pedophiles, kidnappers, rapists, predators) who wants to slipstream behind that. But if you sat me down with some radical feminists I’m not sure whether we would sort everything out.” He thinks it’s a waste of political energy. “I’d like to get to the place where I don’t have to have this fight because I’m trying to deal with rightwing fascists and what they say. Feminists don’t have to worry about right wing fascists, of course.”
It doesn’t take a fucking magic wand. It takes empathy, respect and honesty, which, interestingly, he seems to think are tantamount to “magic,” i.e. unlikely enough to be considered impossible. He thinks it would be a waste ohf his time, but feminists aren’t the ones making unreasonable demands. He wants feminists to give up, surrender the keys, and shut the fuck up.
I’m trying to decide if it’s a contractual obligation, or an invariably occurring cervical comorbidity.
~Bruce:
Exactly, that’s what angered me most. That’s how he views the struggle of billions: in terms of whether he thinks it’s worth his time to care.
I think he views it as a waste of his time because he doesn’t accept that TW (self selected males) in women’s spaces is an actual issue. Instead, he sees this as a total non issue, like white Southern women complaining about racial integration of bathrooms. Basically, here the Radfems are racist white southerners, and trans women are Black women.
Therefore, why would he waste time arguing about things that don’t even happen with bigots?
It’s a good thing that Izzard wasn’t responsible for the layout of the front page, otherwise it could appear that the murder of a woman left a vacancy in the ranks of womanhood, and Izzard was ‘promoted’ to fill that vacancy.
It strikes me that if Izzard had any class about him he’d complain to the Guardian about the layout, or at least issue a statement or tweet or something condemning the editor for the lack of taste in running with that particular layout. Clearly, Izzard is just too wrapped up in himself to care. He probably couldn’t even tell you what the lead story was: he made the front page and that’s all that matters to him.
