If you scroll down Jo Rowling’s timeline, you can see who can be trusted and who can’t. The Icabog idea is inspired, and seeing the kid’s responses makes me tear up. :) She’s terrific.
Elsewhere, the sinister trans agenda and it’s promoters and recruiters are not something I would trust around anyone, no matter what age.
Even though I am banned from Twitter, I can read tweets so it is fascinating to see that some of the trans cult members are saying that if a person uses the term “transgenderism” that means the person knows too much and is obviously transphobic because that word is transphobic.
Some on Twitter have asked the TRAs if using the words racism or feminism or stoicism makes one, well, something or not but they are getting no replies from the TRAs and just trying to explain what is going on is making my head hurt so……..
And the stream of TRAs making nasty “die terf” and “eat s$%^ terf” replies may not be helping their side much because newcomers to this whole issue who are drawn to the thread because of Rowling being a famous author are going to notice which side is being the nastiest.
maddog, the tweet that Rowling was responding to has vanished now, obviously because its author knew that he was libeling her. In a nutshell, Rowling has been promoting her new book for children. She has also commented on her opposition to the labeling of children as trans, the use of puberty blockers and so-on in the past. On the basis of the latter, a female-identifying man tweeted something to the effect of ‘Best watch Rowling closely while she’s promoting this because she is known to be a danger to children’.
It seems that Rowling took great exception to having the lie that she’s a danger to children stated as a fact on a public forum. That the tweet has vanished strongly suggests that the author has nothing to substantiate his claim because of course he can’t. ‘TERFs are murdering transfolk’ is a slogan, not a truth.
At the request of @jk_rowling and on the advice of my lawyers, I have deleted my original tweet. The tweet, when read on its own, lacked clarity and, right or wrong, wealth is powerful.
With that said, I stand behind the intent of the tweet, which is to highlight the dangerous nature of transphobia. Children are particularly vulnerable and must be accepted for who they are, not told that who they are is wrong. With great power comes great responsibility.
So, not an apology at all and not really even a retraction.
If you feel that the transphobia you’ve put into the world is not dangerous to children you are more than welcome to have your lawyer send me a cease & desist letter. I’m sure the media would love to write articles about how you attack l trans folks and then try to silence them.
One might argue that children are particularly vulnerable and must be accepted for who they are, not told that they need to embark on a course of hormonal and surgical treatment to alter their body.
Seen in a public post on Facebook: “JK Rowling threatened to sue a trans woman on twitter for saying she had no business around kids because of her TERF bullshit.” The entire issue swept away with two words. No examination of what Rowling actually said, what her opinions are, or whether those views indicate she poses any danger to kids. No recognition that the challenged statement was libelous.
Is Ms. Spurling British? Isn’t British libel law plaintiff friendly?
Not as plaintiff-friendly as it used to be; there have been reforms.

FTR, Spurling is trans.
TRAs are retweeting this. I hope Rowling sues this nasty turnip.
It’s odd to find myself cheering for a lawsuit.

I feel like I’ve walked into the middle. What is Rowling responding to?

Spurling’s response is predictably unapologetic:
So, not an apology at all and not really even a retraction.
Ah interesting: those tweets quoted above are 8 hours old, but here’s one from 12 hours prior:
Quite the turnaround!
So my son really was an elephant, and I was doing him real violence by not feeding him peanuts and getting him a cage at the circus? Who knew?

Of course.
