This one particular bit of coast
Aw, Mister Nice Guy.
Speaking in Jupiter, Florida, Trump announced he was signing an order to expand a moratorium on offshore drilling to include Florida’s Atlantic coast, Georgia and South Carolina.
Well that’s eccentric. Normally he’s in there yelling “Drill drill drill!” and tearing up laws protecting pesky things like shorelines.
The Trump administration has generally been enthusiastic about oil and gas drilling, but some Florida officials had expressed fear that the state’s tourism industry would be negatively impacted if the moratorium was allowed to expire.
Oh well that explains it then. Mar-a-Lago and Doral.
Trump’s announcement seems to be an attempt to curry favor with voters in a key swing state that could determine the winner of the presidential election.
See above. No further motivation required.
FL, GA, SC …
Wonder if he thinks North Carolina is a lost cause for his re-election?
As a Floridian I can tell you, at least from my one perspective, he can go fuck himself. We are a republican state though so get ready.
Georgia has become a swing state, yay! Despite our toady governor, Georgia, despite it’s late primaries and traditional red state status, is relevant again! I’m hoping for a statewide slam dunk against Donnie Dipshit.
@1 NC voted for Obama, but it’s going to take someone with that kind of charisma to swing them. I’m hopeful though, Donnie Dipshit is a stupid asshole, and North Carolinians are not very tolerant of stupid assholes. I lived there for 7 years, and from my experience the NC populous is very discerning. :) Alas, Biden is not Obama, but he might get the vote simply because Donnie Dipshit has proven to be so very incompetent.
I was thinking about the charisma issue earlier today. Why why WHY do Democrats avoid it as if it were a bad smell? WHY is Obama the only charismatic Dem candidate in what seems like centuries? Why can’t they do this right? (By which I don’t mean pick charisma at the expense of everything else, I mean include it.)
There were some promising (maybe even exciting) possibilities in the primaries, but the Old White Guys weren’t them. At least we have someone to vote against, Donnie makes that easy.
