What I heard there was the president of the U.S. bragging about screwing over an American manufacturing company, insulting the owners of that company, as well as admitting that contracts mean nothing to him. A lot of ‘sirs’ there, too.
He was very excited, wasn’t he, with his little arms flapping disjointedly every time he played the man from Boeing, stumbling over his words more and more each time he played the general, like he couldn’t wait to get to the ‘sir’ bit. The stupid, deep and growly voice he used for the general was funny, though I doubt the real general was laughing very much.
On a ‘spectrum of truth’ (well, why not? Everything’s a fucking spectrum these days) does anybody think that his story actually moves away from the ‘not at all true: total bullshit’ starting point?
That second clip is pretty much a confession that Trump is willing to cheat on a government contract. An instruction to renege on a contractual obligation, but without ‘putting anything in writing’ to avoid paying the cancellation fee.
He looks utterly defeated in that video. It looks more like someone walking to their doom than someone who has just held a rally for ego-boosting reasons. Is there any video of any other president looking so utterly dishevelled? He’s holding his hat, his tie is undone and dangling – he didn’t even bother to remove it – and his face is so droopy it makes a bloodhound look like Charlotte Crosby. I would expect him to look tired – he’s an elderly, unfit man and it was a long day – but if I were his doctor I would be waiting to whisk him to hospital.
Yes about the admission of cheating on a contract. I didn’t pick up on that until later – oh THAT Trump – the Trump who stiffs contractors and workers. We just saw him in action, out in the open telling us that he cheats, that he thinks it’s outrageous that people expect him to do what the contract says.
@tigger – yes – I would have thought a President would have had some kind of valet or someone to keep him looking smart for public occasions. It’s reasonable he should look groomed and in control.
KBPlayer, I don’t think that anyone would have dared to approach him on the flight home. He would have made sure to be as nasty to them as possible. Someone must be to blame for his failure of a rally, and he certainly won’t think that it’s him.
I’m surprised in his retelling of the Boeing contract that the general didn’t have tears in his eyes.

Too bad he’s not actually, you know, funny. Like whichever Roman emperor it was who staged his own games so he could be a gladiator.
Don’t call us, Mr Trump; we’ll call you. And would you be so good as to see yourself out?
Next…!
(Aside:) God almighty! How many more? And do I need a drink…!!
Just be careful with that glass of water!
Not his best gig. He’s come back with his face tripping him.

And all those folk who PROMISED to come to your gig, and were no shows.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him look that miserable. Good.

[watches that video]
Hoo-boy. 12 angry men stuffed into one suit.
