The AFFH rule that Trump ripped up
More on Trump’s “you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low income housing built in your neighborhood” tweet.
Because he didn’t want to bother his tenants by making them live among people who were not white.
This is just the start of what I predict will be a major ramping-up of his hatred. He knows that he’ll be out come January so he’ll be desperately destroying everything he can get his spiteful little hands on between now and then, and his lashing out at his percieved enemies at home and abroad will only become more severe and unhinged as the election gets closer.
It’s set to be a very tense, dangerous few months.
And AoS, therein lies the real problem with the American system. Even after losing the election, Trump will still have a full two months to fuck things up. On what planet is it a good idea to allow the defeated to remain in office for a further 2 months?
In a democracy, as soon as the election result is final, it is out with the old and in with the new, unless the old get another turn at-bat. I guess this is why so many Americans are quite happy declaring the USA is not a democracy but a republic.
Slightly off topic, it looks like Elizabeth Warren is not listing her pronouns anymore? So she was just seizing the opportunity not to offend the woke while running for president?
@3 I was hoping that was true, but it looks like the pronouns are still there. Kamala Harris too, incidentally.
The pronoun promoting, while seeming innocent, and however indirectly, represent some nasty TRA cult ideology, and I can’t tell if it’s out of ignorance or political pandering, but they could use some education on how anti-feminist and anti-woman these people are. They might get some ultrawoke fringe votes with the pronouns, but they won’t get mine.
Roj Blake,
Yeah, it’s one of those relics that made sense in the 18th C* when news and people traveled slow, but not so much now. Now of course the excuse is that the president-elect has to put together a cabinet, but again that’s a weakness of our system.
But regardless of what happens in November, we’ve got about 40% of the voting population who thinks that Trump is just ducky, and a large portion of them are armed. These are dangerous times.
*Originally in fact the president’s term started in March, but the 20th Amendment moved it to January. Also, November elections aren’t in the Constitution; in theory, Congress could change the date.
