Trump appears to be insane, it’s time for Pence and Congress to remove him via the 25th amendment. He is clearly unfit for office, he is unable to accept reality and that indicates a severe and dangerous mental issue. He should not, even as a lame duck, be allowed to make any more decisions. I don’t know about jail, but he definitely needs to be put under some kind of psychiatric care. He’s a national security risk, and the longer he is indulged in his delusional behavior, the more dangerous the situation gets.
Trump doesn’t sound insane to me, he sounds like the ignorant and obnoxious blowhard sitting on a barstool, the uncle who makes you cringe at Thanksgiving, and the good folks in the comments section of news stories. In other words, he resembles his constituents.
“ You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know… morons.” — Blazing Saddles
He’s also a narcissist and probably has other personality disorders. So granted, he’s unfit for office.
Sastra @7 Maybe you’re right, that is a more charitable assessment, but I don’t think he deserves it. Spouting things like “I won the election” is not the same as “I dispute the election results” and “there was widespread fraud” is not the same as “I want to see confirmation of the election results”, so maybe this is the only language that the morons understand? But the seemingly complete divorce from reality makes me think he’s severely mentally incapacitated (aside from his usual lack of intelligence).
A leading psychiatrist on Trump:in his opinion, a case in his opinion of narcissistic personality disorder. As a discussion of anyone but a power-seeker who has finished up with access to the US nuclear codes, this would be way out of order. But megalomaniacs like Trump IMHO are fair game: anything goes.
Lord Acton’s famous dictum: “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” is IMHO a reflection of the fact that our long evolutionary march as a species has been in small ‘tribal’ groups of hunter-gatherers or pre-industrial villagers of maximum 50-60 in which everyone knew everyone else, and on a lifetime basis. Evolution does not seem to have equipped us very well to hold the sort of power held by say, a Napoleon Bonaparte, a Joseph Stalin, a Mao or even with ‘checks and balances’ a Donald Trump.
It’s more than a low opinion, it’s contempt. That explains the abuse and insults more accurately.
It reminds me of the old IWW trade union song, ‘Bump Me Into Parliament.’
” I’ve read my bible ten times through / And Jesus justifies me / The man who does not vote for me / By Christ he crucifies me.”

Hillary Clinton: “Half of Trump’s supporters are in the basket of deplorables”
Everyone: OMG HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT, THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!
Trump: “Every single person who supported Biden is anti-American”
Everyone: (shrug)
Tiny, yet vastly better than than Trump’s own university.
Trump University? I must confess I’ve never heard of it.
But, let me guess: most popular course on offer: Pussygrabbng 101. Then on up to Masters and PhD level.
I wonder where he finds the time.

And most Americans have a low opinion of Trump (though far too many do not).
