Not happy with him
Vindman, a decorated veteran who was born in Ukraine, was escorted out of the White House by security and told his services were no longer needed, according to Vindman’s lawyer, David Pressman.
His twin brother Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a National Security Council attorney, was also fired and walked off the White House grounds alongside him.
Because Donald Trump is a crook and a thug.
Trump foreshadowed Vindman’s dismissal earlier Friday.
“Well, I’m not happy with him,” Trump said. “You think I’m supposed to be happy with him? I’m not.”
We don’t care whether you’re happy with him or not, asshole. You’re a lying crook and you’re committing more crimes by punishing witnesses. We don’t give a good god damn about your egomaniacal feefees.
Remember when Obama said he thought we were going to be all right?
He was wrong.
Looks like Collins was right—he’s learned his lesson, all right. He knows he can get away with anything now.
If only he would drop dead.
Indeed.
I hope to spend Election Night 2020 drinking champagne to celebrate the end of the Orange Tyrant, but I also hope to raise a toast or two to the political demise of gutless weasels like Susan Collins and Cory Gardner.
(Of course, if it looks like another four years of this crap, then it’s time to switch to the hard stuff. Either way, I will be very hung over the next day.)
I’m dreading that night.
Donald Trump is not the problem. He’s basically nothing—a cipher, a black hole of narcissism who will do anything and everything to aggrandise and fellate himself in public. He’ll do or say any random thing, and if it garners a worshipful response by the people who’ve been bused to him, he’ll focus on that.
In this way he discovered—because nobody else exists, not really, so of course he discovered it, super genius that he is—a deep vein of ignorant incipient fascism that’s been cultivated in America since the fall of Nixon. It isn’t that he’s a petty, pathetic, putrid, pusillanimous prick (though he is that, in spades and more); it’s that a good forty percent of America is so ignorant and unreflective and vain and scared and hateful that they’ll happily respond to his naked racism and greed and sexism as some kind of cultural revenge for having ever been made to feel ashamed of anything at all.
It isn’t that Trump is who he is. It’s that Americans are who they are, and enough if them are provincial fools and would-be lickspittles and willing—even eager—doormats for this man that you are doomed. Unfortunately, there’s no arsenal of democracy waiting in the wings to rescue us from you.
Hmm. Trump would be not the problem if he lived in obscurity. But he’s an “influencer” so I don’t see how he can help being the problem, along with the people corrupt or credulous enough to let him influence them. I think it is who he is, because that’s why it’s so horrible that so many people think he’s Awesome.
Right now it looks like there is no democrat candidate that can sink to the level of playing Trump’s game in the current social and political climate of twitter trolling and schoolyard posturing. There is no high ground anymore, Trump made sure to bulldoze it all flat. He didn’t drain the swamp, he made it ALL swamp. There have been some nasty elections before, but the one coming up is sure to be the ugliest ever. He drags everyone down into his sewer and brings out the worst in them, and then he mocks them for being just like him. There needs to be someone to vote for who can resist being baited into this trap. The next election will go far beyond mudslinging in a far worse way than the last one, and the only way to prevent that is to not indulge him. I don’t see it happening, the left is too pissed off, and that’s how he wants it.
And I imagine the pundits will continue telling the people as they analyze polls that people want the nicest candidate. How anyone could think Trump was nicer than Hillary, I don’t know. Or that Bush was nicer than Gore. Or Kerry. Dubya did exude a faux warmth that the others lacked, but nice is not about smiling and saying “Shucks folks”. And Hillary was perceived as cold by a lot, but compared to Trump, she is Mercury.
Which disproves the pundits I guess. I don’t know most voters from Shinola, but I think Hillary is plenty tough, and much more intelligent and humane than what we have now. I would hope people can see that, but they probably don’t. She still won the popular vote by 3m votes, so I guess there’s some hope that the voters aren’t all as stupid as I think they are. If Hillary were to run again, if only…
