That sounds a lot more likely given Trump’s obsession with the “loyalty” of his underlings, than that she had some pressing constitutional duty that she was observing. AFAIK, she’s not even a constitutional lawyer, so she couldn’t have even made a reasoned decision along those lines, anyway.
It really is just part of the entire pattern of this administration. She fits in nicely.
