Let’s you and him wrestle
This is hilarious.
Yes that’s Ted Cruz, THE Ted Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz, saying “Betcha can’t beat this other guy ya big sissy!”
It’s always been my understanding that when you’re taunting someone for being weak & scrawny & feeble you’re supposed to say “I could beat you up,” not “This other guy could beat you up.”
The second just doesn’t have the same oomph, somehow.
I CHALLENGE YOU to fight this other person over here ==>
By sheer coincidence, the guy he chose has a history in wrestling and wrestling coaching.
“Betcha my Dad could beat up your Dad.!”
“Couldn’t!”
“Could!”
“Couldn’t!”
“Could!”
Etc.
It’s on the same level.
I’mma gonna take a moment to marvel that someone used the appropriate “let’s” for once.
…
Seriously, that’s some soothing balm.
Additionally, I’m not sure it’s a good look for Ron Perlman to be commenting on someone’s looks.
Glass houses and all.
Ophelia, there’s a long, sad tradition of cowardly losers doing the “let’s you and him fight” routine. I remember plenty of boys on the playground trying it, either as a way to suck up to the tougher kids, or just because they were bored and wanted to see a fight.
Nullius, he makes a beautiful cat, though. Maine Coon.
