Probably both. Yes he says it for the same reason he pretend-quotes people calling him “sir” every other word, but also yes he really calls her it, because that too is a reminder that he is King of the Universe.
This morning I saw Dr. Fauci live stream a guest lecture for an undergrad course in MIT’s Department of Biology (Course 7). The course is COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 and the Pandemic. His slides were titled, “COVID-19: Public Health and Scientific Challenges.” The guest lecture series is open to the public (but only registered students can ask questions). MIT should post a recording of the live stream at my link above by next week.
One slide classified confirmed cases as Mild/Moderate (81%), Severe (14%), and Critical (5%), where “Severe” means hospitalization but not a ventilator, and “Critical” means a ventilator. Given that context, another slide was titled:
More Than 40% Of U.S. Adults Are Susceptible To Severe COVID-19
That slide included many conditions as risk factors, including 30% of Americans are obese (BMI ≥ 30).
My takeaway — In the video of Trump at a rally yesterday, Trump reassured his base that catching COVID-19 only hurts people “if they have other problems, that’s what it really affects.” But 40% of American adults count as having conditions that are risk factors for the Severe category. That is not reassuring at all.
And that’s not really true, you know. There have already been some cases of football players who have myocarditis as a result of COVID. They are neither old nor infirm. In fact, they force those guys to be relentlessly healthy, I guess so they will be healthy when the concussion hits?
Well, Trump will have to take solace knowing, ‘ it’s honor enough to be nominated”
Even if the nomination came from one of his butt mites.
Does he seriously refer to his wife in conversation as “First Lady”? Or is that just another thing like “sir”, to reinforce that he is the president?
He makes my head hurt. There isn’t enough Tylenol to deal with four more years.
Probably both. Yes he says it for the same reason he pretend-quotes people calling him “sir” every other word, but also yes he really calls her it, because that too is a reminder that he is King of the Universe.
And of course, he’s been known to forget her name too.
Of course, it’s not just those who had loved ones die; it’s all those who lived but will have permanent impairments.
I suppose by “affected almost no one”, he means no one called Trump.
Mussolini, Stalin and Hitler were also spuriously nominated for the Peace Prize, whoop de do.

Trump being one of them, in several categories I would think.
Weaklings who get sick and/or die and their milquetoast relatives who care for their loved ones ARE “nobody” to this … person.
