He can just tweet anything?
Women get permanently banned from Twitter for saying men are not women, but Trump can tweet us into a war with Iran and that’s copacetic.
It is who we are though. If “we” and “who” and “are” are meaningful in the context of a whole large heterogeneous country, it is who we are. We (or “we”) have a long history of destroying cultural sites, though more by starvation and attrition than by bombs. We’re not some glorious beacon of idealism that has never touched a hair on the head of any cultural site anywhere. Of course we’re not.
Boris Johnson & his government, after an initial shocked silence (none of the USA’s allies were consulted or even forewarned), are now hastily clambering on the juggernaut… though if it comes to being dragged into war, I hope that the fury that was roused by Blair’s lying acquiescence in the the Irag war will be roused again ten-fold – I think, and hope, it will be quite difficult for a British government to get any sort of a public support for a war, particularly since it has been brought about by the collapse of the agreement, supported by the EU & Britain and other countries, including Japan, which Obama worked out with Iran, and which was cavalierly and pettishly repudiated by Trump, merely because it had been brought about by his predecessor.
Probably good news for Bibi too…
Well, sure, of course Americans are on board with this. “War crimes” are just a bunch of silly rules probably written by a buncha limp-wristed Yoo-Rup-Pee-Ins who want to prevent President Rambo from kicking ass. And what the hell do Europeans know about war, after all?
Trump stated that he would not lose votes if he murdered someone. He has now put that to the literal test: he has murdered someone (albeit not on 5th Avenue) as a strategy to retain office.
This is why I like Warren so much.
In March of last year, she was one of only nine senators to sign on to a letter calling for Saudi Arabia to release Waleed Abu al-Khair, Raif Badawi, Loujain al-Hathloul, Samar Badawi, and Dr. Walid Fitaih.

So when she hits Trump’s war mongering, she’s got some serious credibility here.
It absolutely is who you are. Who else has the disconnect of the USA with actions like a drone strike on a guy in a car on a street being good and a bomb planted to do the same thing being evil?
The names Orlando Letelier and Ronnie Moffitt come to mind.
Twitter is the official voice of the U.S. president, used by him to announce policies and murders. Trump has said as much himself several times. Twitter is hardly going to kill the golden goose over a few squeamish moral issues.
Ah but his saying so doesn’t make it true.
It’s “official” in the sense that he really means what he says on it, in the moment he says it, except when he doesn’t. It’s not official in the more usual senses.
True, but being the on-line media platform of choice of the American president has to be worth much dollars to Twitter regardless of how he chooses to (mis)use it.
